Alpha Fox Trot Design Roof Rack & Ladder Review

Assembled and installed an Alpha Fox Trot Design roof rack and ladder yesterday. I must say it was a great experiences from purchasing to installing. I reached out on Instagram to get a better idea of their lead times. They were quick to respond and informed me their lead time was currently only one week. To be honest this was the deciding factor on making the purchase. I was also looking into Prinsu and Victory 4x4, but their lead times were a lot longer.

I placed the order on June 7th and a week and a day later on June 15th I received a shipping notification. Two days later the roof rack and ladder were at my door. The instructions were straight forward and it took me about 2 1/2 hours to assemble the rack my self. The ladder only took about 30 minutes. I had 4 left over bags of nuts and screws and reached out to them via Instagram to make sure I didn't miss anything. They again quickly responded and informed me bags left over are used for mounting items on the rack.

There is no wind noise when I drove below 70 mph. Going above 70 you can begin to hear the noise. Although, the wind noise was not significant. I also did not apply rubber tubing on the front fairing because I have read it can cause rusting. So applying the rubber tubing may change this.

I just wanted to give this company a shout out as they seem to be a small and new company. Would definitely recommend them if you are in the market for a rack or ladder. Pictures of the rack and ladder below.

I started with the rubber strip and there was some wind roar at speed. Removed it and it's quiet now. Awesome rack though and killer price.

If you put the rubber on in the future just place a clear strip on the roof underneath. On mine I have the fairing closer to the roof to block wind noise, so I have to be aware moisture gets trapped under the rubber.

I saw your post on another thread and left the rubber off. Noise wasn't not bad at all, except the first crossbar would resonate loudly at 70-80mph. The rubber trim got rid of this. I also installed some clear film across the front. It only takes a strip about 2.5" wide.

I just installed this rack last week and I'm very happy with it. I installed it by myself on the roof. While not impossible, it is MUCH easier to build on the ground and lift on.

I did choose to leave off the 2nd crossbar, over the sunroof.
This is a picture of the whole rack, before I put the trim on the front.

Good on them for making 3D rails for the side rails. Should keep back-and-forth to a bare minimum. Lots of people have issues with rooftop tents on other racks that use flat side rails swaying back-and-forth and "squealing" as things move and sway.

I screwed the front feet down a little to give me plenty of room between the fairing and the roof so I didn't bother with the clear strip yet. I also pushed the first crossbar back one notch. I wanted to have a little gap in case I wanted to run a ratchet strap all the way around lengthwise for any reason. Still super happy with the rack. Probably going to buy 2 flat panels to try out.

That's good to know, I'll look into getting a clear strip. Thanks

I am also interested in getting the flat panels as well. They are a pricey especially for the powder coat option. I may just buy two to place at the end of the rack. This would make it easier to get up there to tie or mount things. Plus would be a nice option to sit or lay up there with the additional two panels.
