I run these in a 295/70/17. They've been a great tire, esp in winter conditions here in CO. My only gripe would be that some tires are a hit or miss when it comes to balancing. I've had a few take a ton of weight to balance and some took very little.

But folks here in the Southwest will want the LT version.
The SKUs and specs for XL/SL sizes like we mentioned on either Baja Boss AT or SUV are the exact same. It's just marketing. You should pay more attention.

Got the 265's in XL load
Ride is great on the road. Just as smooth as stock tires. Slight increase in road noise but nothing crazy. Slight decrease in MPG.

Did a little camp trip last weekend on them.
300 miles on the highway each way and about 2 hours of trail to camp total.
Things were pretty wet and wild from winter and these tires were fantastic. Almost no slip at all. Very happy with them thus far

Thanks so much for sharing your experience so far. The tires look like a great option for our rigs.

I have been trying to track down these tires for months now. They are basically the only AT made in a super tall skinny (255/85R17), but they are apparently made of unicorn farts. I've seen one set in that size in the wild, and that guy owns an off-road shop and got them directly from MT themselves. Every store that says they carry them doesn't have them in stock and has no ETA.

These are basically brand new, right? They don't even make a full size range at the moment. I'd imagine that will stabilize in the next ~6 months. What's the real height of a 255/85?

MT says they are 34.6"x10.5" - so basically its the easy-mode tire to fit a 35 on a 5th gen. They were supposed to be available late last year, but now its looking more like late Q2 or even Q3.

Any other reviews on the Baja Boss A/T?

I have been debating between these and the Wildpeak AT3W. Both seem to do well in snow (big priority in the NE) and are also "quiet". Has anyone switched from the AT3W to the Baja Boss A/T and can compare snow performance?
Also, can anyone clarify the noise level? Is it just quiet for a hybrid tire or is quiet in general? Unclear if the people reporting a slight increase in noise but don't specify if they are switching from a highway tire or from another A/T tire.

I talked to Mickey Thompson no plans for a 275 70 17 this year. But they will suggest it and maybe it will be added to the sizes next year.

Any additional details/updates would be great. Do you have an estimated mpg loss?

I finally purchased these for my 4runner this summer in the stock 265/70-17 in the XL load rating. So far I'm very happy. They are quite a bit quieter than the C-rated Duratracs on my T100 (which is out of alignment and has been for many miles, contributing to tire noise). Overall, these fit my needs very well striking a balance between off-road/on-road performance, weight, etc. The tread voids are slightly smaller than the Duratracs, but I really like the variable sized tread voids on the shoulder lugs. This allows for some large spacing for mud traction, without the compromises made of using a mud tire on-road.

One thing to note, is that the XL rated tire does not have the rim protector that the E load rated tire has. This was a bit of a disappointment as I have found mud/rocks/sticks to find their way into the tire bead without a rim protector.

I came from Michelin LTX's on this and there of course more noise, but it's not significant. I have to think about it to recognize it. MPG likely dropped slightly, but I did a lift at the same time, so I can't really say which contributed more to that. Dry road traction is a bit less on hard braking in my experience. I did have a close encounter with a deer that engaged the ABS, but all was well-enough...I also had a trailer on without brakes which contributed to the fudgy pants potential. Wet road traction is amazing so far. We hit some serious deluges in WV heading home on the interstate from vacation and I was really impressed by their performance in the wet.

I'll attempt to include photos in a separate post. I seem to be having trouble getting them uploaded.

This is the tire size I am looking at as well.I currently run 255/80 so it makes sense to step up a little bit to 255/85. Hopefully they become more widely available in the future. Hoping next year I can get a new set of tires.
