Couple of Venture questions

I reserved a 2021 Venture and hope to pick it up in a week or so. I previously had a 2016 4Runner Limited and a 2019 TRD Pro Tacoma so I only know the systems each of those had at that time.

Two questions (for now):

1. What is the "skid plate" on the Venture model? Is it the same as what you see on the TRD Pro models? The aluminum finish look with the red TRD lettering?

2. I assume there is a front camera of sorts for the safety sense and dynamic cruise, but does it also double as a visual on your 8" screen when you're parking or approaching something in the front that you can toggle on? Our 2019 TRD Pro Tacoma did not have the latest front sensing hardware which is why I am asking.

Thank you!

I have a 2020 Venture. It has the regular skid plate (not TRD). Not sure about the front camera as that didn’t exist in the 2020 model. I’ve been using an aftermarket front camera and the quality has been much better than the stock rear camera.

2021 Front camera in the TSS system is not accessible.

I added the anytime backup camera harness with a front camera to my 21 nightshade.

1. Stock non-pro skid plate.
2. No front camera.

The Venture is just a debadged ORP with blackout front+back, black handles and cross bars, a mega warrior basket, matte pro wheels, and all weather liner+cargo mats.

Thank you all for this information! Yep, love the look of the silver Venture with the black accents over the ORP.

Which aftermarket camera did you get?

Costco sells license plate cameras. It literally mounts around the license plate and charges from the sun. It connects wirelessly to a display that you can put anywhere in the cabin. It’s been an absolute lifesaver off-road and in city parking

I totally forgot about that and almost got it for my Tacoma. Now I will reconsider that over the anytime backup camera kit (Not sure about drilling and installing a camera over the front safety sensor area)

Yup. I actually prefer it over the OEM camera. Would have totally used one for the rear if there was no OEM one.

Perfect answer.

If you want the TRD skid plate, it should be available as a dealer option, or you could just find someone on here that's selling theirs.
The blackout on the silver is a very good look imo.
