I’ve never purchased a new vehicle in my 30 years of buying and it sort of pains me. But buying used right now is insanity (used 4runners are selling either above, at, or slightly below msrp of a new 4runner).
“So why buy right now?” We made a promise to my 16 year old that he would inherit my 2012 Pilot when he was set to drive (which is mid August).
I just put a deposit down on a silver 2021 Venture that is set to begin production today and have a bit of “buyers remorse”. I love the vehicle. Love how it drives. Love how it looks. And I plan to own it “forever”.
Is this Venture package worth it considering the market today? Should I consider an sr5 premium? Something else?
Thanks for your thoughts!

I own the 2020 venture in Barcelona red. Love the truck, but in retrospect would have probably picked TRD Off-road. The only main difference (non-visual) is (1) silver TRD wheels and (2) cargo basket. The wheels alone would cost about $2000 for the set and the basket would cost about $500. I use the cargo basket a lot on our trips. If you plan to off-road the truck, Toyota’s gimmicks like crawl control and multi terrain select are worth it. I was recently on the trail with folks that had Marlin Crawler dual cases with final ratio of 200:1+ and the crawl control enabled me to roll with them when conquering big granite boulders. Multi-terrain select is also very useful when rock crawling. But again you get those features on ORP. Price wise, I paid $44k for the truck (pre tax and financing) in 2020. ORP could be had for $39k back then.
