Hey all, I haven't seen too many posts for this one so wanted to post some info in case people were on the fence on which ladder to get for their rig.
The Good:
I love the build quality, and additional rungs this one has over something like the C4. This thing is SOLID, and I did opt to drill the 2 holes at the bottom (if you watch Taco Twonz install video you will notice they say it's not necessary to do it). I am 235lbs and when I go up and down this thing does not budge and the steps are deep enough that you can actually use the ladder....as a ladder.
The customer service was great - I got in touch with Jeff himself and he gave me some tips on how to finish the install.
The Bad:
Install was pretty smooth until the very last step. I think EVERYONE has trouble with the last 4 bolts because it is such a tight fit. I think v2 of this ladder with def need an adjustment because I needed to go get a 24" adjustable wrench to get some leverage. It also comes with no documentation or instructions, and none on their website -- just YT videos you have to find yourself.
Another issue I ran into is that at full open it does hit the back of my Front Runner roof rack. If you installed the roof rack yourself you will remember in the directions to slide it as far back as possible -- well that will cause it bump into each other. I need to take everything off and slide it forward to clear which is a pain in the ass.
If you guys have any questions or need help with install let me know!
I like how it lines up with the "4"
If you install the bottom first this is how much gap there is that needs to be made up by flexing top plate to make it fit (apparently as designed)
Bumping into my Front Runner roof rack
The biggest pain of the install and final part - everyone has issues here - even the Westcott team had to put out a YT video on how to finish it off
