All in all, I guess we can't complain about MPGs. I track my MPGs between fill ups. Last mileage between fill ups was......271 miles, 90% highway, 20.9 vehicle reading, 20.72 hand calculation. Stock 2019 TRD Pro except for RSG sliders. 32psi in all tires. I have a sprint booster installed and leave it at sport 9 setting.

The best MPG rating for the Bronco is with the 2.3 turbo. Highway rating is 22. You'll need premium gas for full power, so taking into consideration the price difference for premium, it's worse mileage than the ancient 4.0/5 speed. Granted, it's more power, but are we really racing this type of vehicle? I think it's a fair trade for reliability/durability over a high strung turbo four.

Even when stock, I don't think mine ever got above 18 MPG.

A lot depends on where you're located and driving styles. I guess I'm in the best possible location for mileage. I'm on the coast, right at sea level, relatively flat. My off roading consists of driving on the beach. If you're at altitude in a mountainous region, YMMV.

19.8 mpg on the mostly downhill 1200 mile leg from Montana to SoCal.

On the highway, I get about 20 MPG. Last month I took my utility trailer with ATV mounted on it to Colorado and got about 17 to 18 MPG. Depends on where and how you drive.

Speaking of the Bronco, one parked next to me the other day. For the life of me, I don't how you can call it an off road vehicle. It is rather small and low to the ground. Any others comment on the Bronco compared to the 4Runner?

The Bronco won't get any better than that. It'll be tough to achieve the 22mpg rating. With a much more modern engine and 10speed, still no better than our ancient design.

You sure that wasn’t the “Sport” version as that one basically shares similarities with a Ford Escape.

I haven’t seen the body on frame Bronco in person, but dimensions and height seems more like a Wrangler.

you can get over 25mpg in a 4Runner. Ive done it a few times.

Besides, I owned a Bronco once=Except for a REAL POS Jeep, it was our worst 4x4!!

I saw one today at my local Ford dealer. It's a four door soft top. It's definitely bigger than a Wrangler. It's wider and looked taller. I did notice that the soft top looked very "ill fitting." It seemed a little looser and wrinkled instead of taut fitting like on the Wrangler. The rear windows were loose and wavy. It certainly wasn't befitting a $65k vehicle.

That's all the Bronco can manage? Wow.

On our trip to the San Juans and back, inclusive of all the low range offroading, we averaged 15.3 indicated mpg which is around 16 real mpg.

So this is about the worst we have got but is very acceptable for me considering the terrain and the trip from 1,100ft to 13,100 ft elevation.

So that Bronco might get maybe 18. That's what they managed 10 years later?

Either way, there is no way I am paying 55k for a properly equipped Bronco when I can get a fully equipped Rivian for 75k.

Not that I would buy either until proven, but as a matter of principle (if I had to choose between the two now).

If the Runner is rated at 16/19, wouldn't the Bronco also get higher than rated mileage?

And they need to run on premium for full power and fuel mileage. And you'll never get one for $55K. Dealers currently want $20k over MSRP!!

Toyota loves changing numbers. It was lifetime tranny fluid and 91 for best performance in the early 2nd gen Tacomas then changed to 100K fluid and 87 minimum.
