I have both. Canvas back with Husky on top. Great protection with Labrador Retrievers.

I have one of these over my canvasback. No dogs for me, but was constantly dealing with plastic totes sliding around. Went with this since it does not have the wings as I was already using the D rings and storing stuff behind my canvasback sides in that area.

I have a husky cargo liner but then I bought this because of my dogs. It works great.

So for dog purposes (I have a long haired white lab), is it better to have the Canvasback or a rear cargo liner like Husky? I was fully about to just buy the canvasback but now I'm hesitant due to the scratching comment.

What I like about the Husky Mat is the lip that goes around it and keeps all mud from trails or sand from beach contained. To clean just slide out and hose off. The Husky is a great fit and well made. That being said for the dog I would at least add with the Husky the canvasback to the back side of the rear seats if they sell them separately. Labrador hair is brutal and not easy to vacuum off carpet areas in the truck. My boys are happy in the back of truck with rear seat up and NOT folded down.

Only thing i don't like about canvas back is when you pull them up. They either use supper strong Velcro or its some cheap ass carpet.

Any Weathertech rear mat users? I just ordered the WT 40440 with the bumper flap and plan to do the Canvasback on just the seat backs and extension. Maybe I should do the full Canvasback with their bumper protector and not use the WT bumper protector? Does the Husky outshine the WT in fit for the rear of the 4Runner? We love the floor mats.

I mostly got the canvas back so I don't have to spend hours vacuuming out dog hair (2 huskies) and prevent hard to remove dirt/stains. I throw in a dog bed when transporting dogs instead of leaving in a plastic liner. I fold the seats completely flat when transporting dogs since they won't stay in the back. A plastic liner will be great at all other times. Dogs will scratch the plastic liner too btw.

How is the cargo mat holding up? Is it part # PK241-89H01-01?

Funny this thread got resurrected because I was debating what to do with my GX I am picking up next week. It will come with the OEM cargo mat but I wanted the protection for the back of the 2nd row seats that the Canvasback provides.

Guess I'll be using both like many of you.

Looks like I'll be adding a mat here soon based on these comments. I just picked up a used Canvasback set on FB marketplace. Haven't even had my 2 labs in the new 4R yet. Seems I'll be adding a rubber mat shortly though based on everyone's feedback here! Thanks for the heads up!!!
