Planning on 5th gen ‘22 4r. Though this guy just made think about waiting!!

So I’m planning on getting a ‘22 but late next year just in case of an all new ‘23. Just saw this video on YouTube. He was pretty spot on with his tundra design. He made 2 designs. One is land cruiser based and one is tundra based.

All i can say is. Give me that LC design and I’m holding off and buying the first one of the lot. IMO it’s looks pretty gorgeous.

I’m posting the 2 renders and the video.

After seeing what Toyota did with the Land Cruiser 300, I am not optimistic that the next 4Runner will be as capable and off-road vehicle as the 5th Gen. I'm quite happy with my 5th Gen, but the only 2023 vehicle that tempts me is the Grenadier.

I'd buy the '22 as the 6th gen with a 2.5L turbo'ed engine and the distinct possibility of it being made in Mexico makes me have no interest in it.

In The video. He commented since the cruiser is no longer in the states. The 4r will be only off road capable suv left from Toyota. So they might make it even better of an off road vehicle. Makes some sense.

The new cruiser is optimized for shopping, not off-road travel. My fear is that the same marketing team will do a similar number on the 4Runner.

Hope not. But I tend to go on the side of Toyota making it a better off road vehicle. The bronco going to push everyone to be better

Just curious, how exactly is the new land cruiser less off-road capable than the 200 series? Legitimate question as I’ve watched a few videos here and there and it didn’t look too different from its predecessor.

Approach and departure angles look like a Sequoia.

Engine is a highly tuned small displacement engine rather than a V8 or inline 6 with torque at low RPMs.

No split tailgate - better for loading groceries, at the expense of a level workspace.

I know the inner parts of the 4r is up to debate. But if they can make something similar to that render…sign me up!!

Both of those renders look cool! I have faith that Toyota will stick with a somewhat capable off road vehicle. The GT86 is sort of unnecessary if you think about it. But it fills a hole in the market and their portfolio of vehicles. Same thought process for the 4Runner. I’d trade in my 5th gen for this. And to get a car that doesn’t shake when I simply put on some new tires

I think it’s actually more off road capable as it’s now available with front and rear lockers.

Also think the new 4r will have the same.

Are these photos of a real potential 4r. Or is it something else? Haven’t seen anything 6th gen related on a 4r yet.
