Question for those of you who installed superchargers……

For those of you who put it in a magnusson supercharger in your 5th Gen’s, any regrets or issues ?

I moved to altitude — 6500 ft+ — and am getting really tired of the lack of ‘umph’ when coming back up from the valley to where I live in northern Arizona.
The magnusson SC’s aren’t out yet for 2020 models so I haven’t ordered one yet. I’m estimating total cost to be around $9-10k with installation, and I think it would only be worth it if I kept the vehicle for an extended period of time. This October will be 2 years of ownership on my 2020 trd pro and it has about 18k miles so far.

I understand that both performance and MPG’s will be improved—By a fair amount.
I also understand that the remainder of the 3 year warranty will be negated.

Is the 2020 magnusson worth waiting on and has anyone had issues where they wouldn’t recommend it?

Any other less expensive alternatives for a power boost like a decent exhaust swap and tune that wouldn’t void the warranty and that would give a decent power upgrade?

Thanks

I have no regrets about the install. I put mine on at 93k and currently have 110k. I plan on keeping it past 200k. That won’t take too long though, I put on over 20k/yr. The extra power is nice but I haven’t noticed much of a change in my MPG. No complaints though, with 285’s I’m averaging 17-18 mpg. But the way install is super easy if you want to save some money.

Thanks. I’m not sure why magnusson hasn’t yet come out with their 2020 SC’s.
If they’re as solid/reliable as the previous ones, then I would strongly consider it and swap out my annoying pro exhaust, get a 1” lift and slap on some 285’s as well. Then I’ll likely keep the truck for another 2-3 years.

Why not try regearing it first? It’s cheaper than a Supercharger. You’ll get more power and when you go to sell it it’s a mod that people won’t mind paying for.

I’m open to all options ……
I figured an after market tune might do the trick along with an exhaust swap …… maybe give me 25-30 hp and 20 lb ft of torque more.

Or is there another suggestion you had in mind ?
