I have 215,000 miles on my 2013 4R limited 4x4. All suspension is original and starting to leak. To replace the Xreas system, basically 6-7K at dealership. I'm thinking of just going standard replacement (non Xreas) parts. What options are available that will give me close to OEM ride/handling? I do not go off road. What kind of repair place should I contact about having installed? I'm not going to do myself. If anyone else had their 5th Gen suspension replaced, what kind of cost am I looking at?
that is a lot of money to replace XREAS. I replaced mine for $3.3K Canadian $ at a toyota dealer. I didn't need to replace the lines though, just the 4 corners. I happened to spot a slight weep right when it started happening so I didn't have the issue of fluid loss. I replaced all 4 corners because they were 152k miles old and original. I don't believe it should cost that much even with the lines. usually folks are saying $3-4K on here.
many go with bilstein 5100s and are happy with them. although you will have a hard time finding aftermarket right now
if you want to replace them with anything non XREAS make sure you pull the lines and actuators as well if you don't go to toyota to do the work. you can't reuse them with fluid loss so might as well get rid of them while you are replacing. you could also put OEM suspension on it as well, same as what's on the sr5 and other trims except for TRD pro I believe. if you aren't going to toyota to do the work you should go to a 4x4 shop that has experience installing lifts and with whatever brand you choose

I've got a 2014 Limited-had a slight leak on the XREAS 3 yrs ago, roughly 110K. Pulled everything, and had Bilstein 5100s installed. Very happy with the result--now crossing about 155K miles.
