Front Suspension Squeaking

Had a set of Icon Stage II shocks installed about a year ago.

Lately, the front end developed a squeak and I hear it at varying noise levels -- going over speed bumps. Slowly backing out of the driveway. Slowly turning the wheel backing out of the drive way. I can even induce a squeak just by lightly touching the brakes as the vehicle moves slowly forward, or backward. Even the most minor move can force a squeak.

Yesterday, I greased the UCAs each at all 3 points. Glad I did this, but the squeaks continue.

Seems odd with the vehicle just 4 years old -- but are there any other bushings I need to consider replacing?

Anyone else experience this problem and find a fix?

Those lower bearings will make quite a racket when they wear out. 4 years is amazing longevity, I usually get less than a year and just change them proactively whenever I have the front end apart for any reason.

They are COM10T bearings, you can buy them anywhere besides Icon for much cheaper. I usually get them from Summit for $15
 
I just have a few thousand miles on my 2021 and when I hit bumps the passenger front makes a noise almost like a slight tire squeal. Super annoying and of course the dealer couldn’t replicate so now I’ll have to demonstrate 10 feet out the door for them, like we’re all idiots. Frustrating.

Time to look at the bushings on the LCA

The lithium spray was certainly an inexpensive option at $7 to try first. Unfortunately, it has not worked -- yet -- I'll give it a day or so maybe the lube needs time to work itself in there.
 
I think I was unclear in my post. The vehicle is 4 years old. The shock upgrade only 1 year. I'll definitely consider replacement if/when I decide to replace the LCA bushings.

Well I seem to be exhausting all options, but this one.

With KDSS I'm not sure I want to try this replacement on my own. Any idea what I should expect for cost on labor? I've read that Siberian Bushings are made of Poly and are relatively cheap:

Welp... for those following this post, I tried the lithium grease and gave it some time to soak in, but it's safe to say that didn't work, except it did quiet down for a short period but I'm fairly certain that was due to a shift in weather/humidity. Time to change out the LCAs. Does anyone here have experience with that and recommendations for replacement 3rd party bushings? I recently asked if these were any good as they seemed relatively inexpensive:

I bet its your shocks or UCA"s and not the stock LCA's.


Race truck parts make race truck noises. Spherical bearings make a racket when theyre bad, sometimes grease helps, but if theyre shot, theyre gonna make noise. unbolt the coilover from the truck, and feel how loose the bearing is. it should be almost impossible to move by hand without added leverage.
