Undercarriage sandblaster in New England?

I'm looking for shop to sandblast the undercarriage of my 4Runner of some surface rust.

Does anyone know of a place in Massachusetts or Rhode Island?

What you probably want to look for is someone who will spot blast areas and steam clean the rest. Trust me I work in restoration. You do not want to bring your driving truck to a sandblaster.... Look into places that do NH oil undercoating. clean it up and treat it. Makes working under it kinda suck but that stuff and fluid film really do work.

Yes, I know the need to be careful and not just go to any blaster. But having difficulty finding shops that do spot blasting.

I hope someone here has already found a good shop so I can avoid the search pain.

I've been wondering about that place. I also want to have the rust underneath my 4R taken care of and was wondering about that company. I'll have to go check them out.

Folks, check out autorust.com - Makers of the Frame Saving Safe-T-Cap Kit I'm in Cranston, RI. Went to them for a quote last year on rust-proofing my 2011 4R. It's a California car, so I'm lucky there's hardly any rust. However, they only have one service level - $1,500 to sand-blast your frame, floor, etc then spray with some undercoat.

It was too expensive and time-consuming for me, so I passed up on them. This year I'm opting for a simple fluid film spray-on in a couple of weeks.

If I could offer an opinion... I would not recommend removing paint (via blasting or other means) and then simply applying undercoat to protect it. Undercoating - even if applied in optimum conditions - will not protect bare metal adequately from road salt and corrosion. You need some sort of surface preparation, then primer followed by paint before undercoating to even give it a chance.

As for undercoating as a viable anti-corrosion treatment, don't even get me started as to how bad it can be.

NH Oil Undercoating: I emailed them twice, finally getting a reply. I saw their video on Youtube workign on a 4Runner andit was very through - their work.

I asked them if they can clean my undercarriage, even sandblasting some surface rust, then use my product for inside the panels and frame - Valugard. I would then undercoat it myself. They declined, saying they only use their products.

Autorust in RI: I emailed them twice, never received a reply. All I wanted was to sandblast the undercarriage. After reading some bad reviews online, and now your post that they're too expensive, I'm glad they never replied.

In the end, I just did the work myself with a grinder. I then sprayed on the new product from PB Blaster, Surface Shield. I used five spray cans, easy as pie. This was just on the surface not inside the frame. I will reapply Valugard on that next year, myself this time with a spray gun.

The PB is still "curing" and there is that lovely smell of it. I'll wait a couple more days before I take the truck out.

I settled on that after a Youtube video by a well known guy who tests these products. I looked into quite a few products, decided on this since it goes on as a liquid spray, creeps and semi-hardens after a few days. The YT guy determined it was the best he's tested and is using it himself. Granted, he was given a 5-gallon tub free by the company for the test but he's an honest guy.
