Meaning … that the Pro would destroy any competition?

90+% of the posts on this forum are regarding cosmetic stuff and aftermarket add-ons. A small handful of people here actually do their own mechanic work beyond regular maintenance. Most have a dealer do their maintenance. So when I see some "build your vehicle software" for Toyota, I figured the cosmetic types here could quickly answer. I don't have time to play with that dealer software. Just show me side-by-side specs so I can quickly see the difference between the two vehicles. I'll get my answer(s) elsewhere.

bye felicia!!! When you find out more info on that unicorn "offroad pro" trim level ..please post back...

Ya'll know that us "cosmetic types" aren't as cool as you offroad pro types... but I would like to know how to become a offroad pro like yourself so I can rock out with you at the next REI gathering, especially when they offering 2 for 1 manicure sessions you been talking about. You can teach me how to 4x4 like an offroad pro like yourself. I'm a good listener. Just remember to save me a seat.... mmkaaayy.

cheers!!!!

I don’t understand any of your logic here, but side by side specs comparing any models you want are readily available on the Toyota website and would take less time to pull up yourself than posting a super basic question on an Internet forum.

So let me get this straight, you have the time to sift through and categorize every single post to arrive at the grand conclusion that "90+% of the posts on this forum are regarding cosmetic stuff and aftermarket add-ons." However, you don't have the time to "...play with that dealer software." Your term "that dealer software" could easily be translated to "navigating a website".

Then you finish with "I'll get my answer(s) elsewhere." which can again be trivially translated to...

"Due to your rude behavior, I shall retrieve my sporting-equipment, and return from whence I came."

Or, more commonly...

"I'm taking my ball and going home!"

As of 2017, when I bought my TRD Off Road.

And, presuming you mean "TRD Off Road Premium" rather than "TRD Pro". (Is that correct?)

Prior to 2017, the Premium came with a moonroof/sunroof thing. Not so in 2017.

Premium came only with black fake leather seats. There were many comments from people living in the Southwest parts of the US who said those seats got extremely hot in the sun. Indeed, a friend bought a Prius with those seats and although he was wearing a pair of thin hiking pants, got a "1rst degree" burn on his legs, which is basically like a sunburn. The regular TRD Off Road comes with fabric seats.

The Premium came with "puddle lights". I think it would be cool to have but.

The Premium also came with turn indicator lights on the mirrors, definitely a good feature IMHO.

I believe the Premium also had front driver and passenger power seats. The regular TRD Off Road had only front driver's side power seat.

That is the extent of it to my knowledge.

I chose the regular TRD Off Road because I did not want the fake leather seats. I sacrificed the other features. I thought I was losing the sunroof but in 2017 it wasn't standard on the Premium anyway.

I hope that helps. I don't know what might have changed in the last four years.

The TRD Pro, that is an entirely different animal, but I do not think you were asking about that. (??)

The people at the dealership knew exactly zip about any of this stuff. Plus, the "build your own" thing on the Toyota site, it is bogus. The vehicles aren't that easy to get and good luck, much less getting a custom configuration. Far as I could see, that was just a sham which tries to match up what you want with a model that is available, which might be if you ordered it in a common configuration. Well, as of 2017 anyway.

Alright then ?

Yes he meant Premium - confirmed it in post #8
But I think he is long gone...

The “fake leather” seats are called Softex and they are amazing. I normally do what I can to buy cloth seats, but the tan Softex seats that came with mine are indestructible and simple to clean. My dog runs around on them and they look trashed. I just wipe them down with a paper towel and they look new.

I just wish they had a cooling function to make them perfect. And yes I’m in the southwest where black Softex would be awful.

That’s it, I couldn’t think of the name. My color (silver) was only available with the black softex. If it came with some other I would have gone with the Premium.

What is your year and color scheme?

BTW I’m pretty happy with the fabric seats.

The Off Road you can get KDSS and the Pro you cannot.

Hence why i bought the Off Road.

Best video explaining KDSS

2021 SR5 Premium white/tan. It looked like a granny car when I bought it, but the black TRD rims and blackout badge kit transformed it completely. Looks very sporty now.

Ain’t gonna lie; I got premium simply to flex the “TRD” badge on the headrest (meaning “show off” for some geezers here).

Fabric would have been fine. Added bonus was it was comfortable and durable for camping/ off-roading trips.

I’ve had so many interiors that cracked or smelled like an old shoe, I’m ok with never going back to “genuine” leather.
