one of the research analyst for toyota that i follow stated that production is being hampered by supply issues from other countries like vietnam, malaysia and philippines - they make wiring harnesses, seats as well as a number of other components for a finished vehicle. tahara plant is also one of the affected facilities which makes the 4runner so yes, there will be a drop in 4r inventory.
ford also revised their guidance back in july that they will make 150k less f150 trucks - their total production drop is approx 700k for the rest of the year.
if you are looking to buy a new vehicle - buy asap. if you are looking to sell - hold til 2022, there is probably a few more rounds of production cuts coming.
