Is this normal with SCS Ray10 -38 offset

Just mounted my new Tires on ray 10 wheels 17x9 -38 offset and that’s how they look. It’s really bothering me since the tires don’t seat flash with the rim. Any body have the same issue. I attached a different picture for comparison.
Thanks

Seems like BF Goodrich KO2s have that issue comparing to other tire brands.

Mine does not look like that. I'm no expert but you might want to get that checked out at another tire shop.

Is this normal with SCS Ray10 -38 offset

I worked in a tire store for many years while in college and I would say, no not normal. The tire bead should be stretch all the way to the edge of the inside of the wheel. There’s nothing special with the rays 10’s why the tire bead would not sit flush.

I have 295/70/17’s on the same scs ray10’s 17x9 -38mm and don’t have that issue.

I suspect, the installer didn’t lube the inside of the tire enough while adding the initial air. The air suppose to pop/push the bead to the edge of the wheel if installed properly.

What size are your tires ? Perhaps is not wide enough for 9” wheel ?

If you’re running KO2s, that might be your issues. Same issue with my 1st set of Ray10s with KO2 tires.

For reference: SCS Ray 10 tire sidewall not fully flush... | Tacoma World

Appears to be. I’ve seen several Ray10s with KO2s and they all look similar.

I’m running ko2 in the 285/70/17c flavor. It’s the tire themselves. Ridge grapplers “seat” better for some reason - which leads me to believe they’re overall larger.
I’ve got BR6’s with the -38mm offset which means mine are also 17x9

Another reason not to run K02s like every other brolander cruising Wall Mart. They don’t balance worth a crap, and now apparently don’t sit flush on Ray 10s.

KO2’s have no wheel protector. Some tires have more aggressive ones, like these Duratracs. Is this normal with SCS Ray10 -38 offset-img_2625-jpg

I agree. I believe the inner diameter of the k02’s contact area on the wheel is smaller the other tires.

Also perhaps the diameter of the -38mm scs wheels have a larger diameter especially around the contact area where the tires seats.

for now, just avoid ko2’s w/ scs -38mm wheels. I don’t believe this is an issue with -10mm scs wheels.
