shipping cost?
I found a great SBP 2013 trail in NM and I've got it on hold awaiting a shipping quote. Has anyone shipped one lately? What's the market like? I know you used to get them shipped for about 50cent/mile, but I'm not sure if it's still liek that. What should I expect? It's about a 1500 mile haul. I've got it posted on USHIP, but the bids are high so far ($1700ish)

It would be far less expensive to fly there and drive it home.

Shipping has definitely shot up in cost over the past few years. I had a car shipped from southern California to Portland in April (~1,000 miles) and it was $1,900. A year or two ago the same trip was quoted at just over a grand. I do think that you can find a better deal than that though as the dealership surely got a cut. Hopefully that helps.

Shipping is ridiculous right now. Minimum increase i have seen is 5%, and on a big ticket item that's a lot. Some cases its doubled.

Had a car shipped from Houston to Boise in March of this year. I think the cost was $1500-$1600. I had the shipping broker look for the best deal for about 2-3 weeks but every shipper was quoting around the same price so I finally accepted a deal after getting tired of waiting. Shipping costs are definitely up which makes sense given the soaring gas prices. At this point it's just the way it is.

Same as others. A couple of months ago I got some quotes to ship my runner from Philly to SLC Utah and everything I got back was in the $1,600 - $1,900 range. Also, you will never stop receiving emails from the guys providing the quotes - ever.

The best I can find is about $1500, but that's just too steep for me. Unless the dealer can eat some of that cost, I may have to back out of this deal and wait for another one to pop up. There's no way I can take 3 days off work, fly out and drive back. I was hoping to book a truck for about $1000.

$1500 isn't bad for NM to NC given the current condition of freight. I had a vehicle shipped from MO to OR about 3 years ago, and it cost me $1300. I shipped that same vehicle from OR to TX around 6 months ago for $1300 as well.

Do you mind me asking which company you used and if you had a good experience with them? Looking to ship a car from OR to TN.

Shipped FJ40 Landcruiser from Glendale, CA to Wenatchee, WA about 18 mo. ago. It cost $1300. Might depend a lot on if it is a single item load or multi-vehicle load.

Ask the dealer if they can provide you with a shipping quote, sometimes they can find a better deal.
I shipped mine from Palm Beach Florida to North Carolina/Wilmington a couple years ago and it was only 650, costs are way up on everything.
If the one you were looking at is from that area, a dry rust free climate, that might be worth the extra coin to ship.
I’ve always wanted to do a fly out and drive home.

SBP Trail??
The last year of the OG Trail and in rare shoreline blue?
SBP was discontinued after 2013, and I think only available in Trail and Limited trims from 2010 to 2013.
Yes pay a little bit extra to ship it, that borders on unicorn.

I used a company called Diesel Auto Express, and have used them several times.
Their email is info@dieselautoexpress.com and website is 404 Not Found. Very easy to work with, on time, and very thorough.
