All Squadron SAE fog lights are DOT approved. I previously said Sports, but in reality it's the SAE's.

You are correct in that the BD lights meet the SAE J583 specification and that makes them "road legal." There is one big "but" though. The original design was marketed as meeting the specification, but later found to exceed the spec and cause significant glare for oncoming drivers. The "fix" provided by BD (at no cost to customers) involved adding a shield inside the lens. This fixed the glare and compliance issues, but had the unfortunate side effect of significantly reducing light output - to levels well below the competition. The result was road legal lights with fairly poor light output.

For a really good (and totally independent) review of LED fog pods, try this:

The LED SAE J583 Fog Pod & Fog Light Review | Tacoma World

See Post #961 for the BD SAE fogs.

Another vote for the Diode Dynamics. Bought the S3 sport in yellow from Amazon and were very easy to install. They really light up the sides of the road well.

I purchased direct from Baja Designs with the forum discount code. Didn't want go through Amazon during this pandemic. They were great and kept me updated.

I got a set of Squadron SAE that were super easy to install and are street legal (I am tired of getting in trouble for illegal stuff. lol). Really good ground coverage and output, far superior to stock and light up the sides of the road well for an SAE. I can also remove the part that makes them street legal if i want to make them regular sports.

I also got a pair of S1's that are wicked bright and small.

Baja makes incredible lights, fit and finish is unmatched. Very well made.
