2021 Venture - people flashing brights at me

So I have a 2021 Venture with the stock LEDs. It’s got a 1.5/1” spacer lift and wearing 275/70 KO2s.

I am constantly getting flashed from oncoming traffic when I have my lights on. I usually flash back to show I’m not running high beams, but not sure if I need some sort of adjustment.

Is it normal to have to adjust light angle with that minor of a suspension change?

TIA.

Pic for fun.

I get flashed all the time with stock SR5 suspension. The lights are clearly in peoples’ eyes. It’s a hassle.

When I did my 2.5" lift back then, my low beams just about acted as high beams.
I don't even get high beamed with my HIDs since they're properly adjusted today. I'd go ahead and adjust them if I were you since you say you're constantly getting high beamed.

The 2020+ LEDs suck imo. Either pointed high enough to be useful for driving but pisses everyone off. Or pointed low and don't give you enough sight distance at 45+mph. I've adjusted mine a lot and haven't found a good place.

Heaven help you if you ever pull a trailer, I'm worried about getting shot from the rage people seem to have flashing me when loaded down.

Never experienced this before but I've never had LEDs I guess.

Yes, it is normal after an adjustment. You are blinding people because your lights are now pointing higher due to the lift.

Find a very flat spot with a wall.

On your headlights you will find a small raised dot in the middle. Back up your car from the wall until that dot is 25' from the wall. Not the front of the car, but that dot.

Measure the height from the ground to that dot.

Subtract 2 inches.

Put some blue tape along the wall at that height like this:

Now turn your lights on and adjust them down until the are the bottom of the blue tape (basically, 2" lower than the dot in the center of the headlight at 25'.)

There is a hole on top of each light where you insert a Phillips screwdriver to make the adjustment. There are multiple posts on how to do this.

After that you should be good to go and the people driving the other way wont be put in a dangerous situation.

Good luck.

Yes. I had my headlights adjusted by the dealer when I installed my leveling kit.

I need to adjust my headlights the way rageandlove described above! My low beams act like high beams because of my lift.

I have a 3”/2” lift and a 1” body lift. It doesn’t happen all the time, but some cars do flash their brights at me. I don’t do a ton of driving at night, and it’s mostly local where the streets are lit.

Nice rig, glad to see someone who cares about whether they are blinding people or not.

I had to adjust the lights on my 21 runner and the wife's 21 sienna. They were both way too high from the factory.

How to Aim your Low Beam Headlights - 5th Gen Toyota 4Runner

Not sure if the 2021's are the same as the 2019. I had to adjust my headlights after lifting my 4R and noticing people were flashing me. I used the link above and was had them aimed lower in about 20 minutes.

It’s not just you. My 2021 Limited does the same. I’m right on the line where perfectly flat ground they don’t bother people but I most commonly get flashed across intersections.
