Depends if you are a worrier or have “variable” cash flow issues. In those cases, it may make sense. What are the odds of a non-accident, non drive train issue costing more than $1800 in the first 75,000 miles? My “gamble” is that it is fairly rare, and if I am unfortunate, I can cope financially. If nothing happens, (most likely), I have $1800 in my pocket.
