I agree it is the most important tire to know the pressure of especially if you are off-roading. I believe the spare on my car is the steel, and it makes sense because if it were premium like the other wheels it would be subjected to harsh road effects.
I am considering taking it to the dealership to have them tell me if the internal computer is able to display the pressure of the spare if a pressure sensing valve was added.
