Navigation, POI, How to Disable; 21 T4R 5th Gen Premium

Hello.

I have looked at the documentation OM35B57U_NAVIGATION MANUAL for instructions on how to disable the display of useless block of POI information on the navigation screen and I am not finding any instructions.

The display comes on as soon as I enter a highway and it wants to tell me about everything that is nearby as I drive, depriving the navigation from almost 50% of screen space. I have checked in the menus and disabled all point of interest features, and I can't get rid of this display overlay. I have even attempted to reset it all.

Has anyone found instructions in the documentations? Does anyone know how to disable this feature?

Thanks in advance.

Farzad

I have 2014....... you can disable it on mine by changing it out of split screen --meaning get rid of the divided screen (view) so the nav just shows the map --- NOT what is at every offramp / coming up for the next few exit

Ok I know this isn’t specific, but I had the same complaint and fixed it by toggling some of the options in the nav setup menu. Can’t remember which one, but I can say it is able to be disabled, without dealer doing it, and doesn’t matter what screen mode you are in. So it is confirmed possible I just can’t remember the exact parameter.

My SR5 is the same way, it is quite annoying. I have not yet looked through the manual or the menu in the navigation system itself.

Easiest way to do it is to set a destination, then on the screen where it is displaying the map, there's a button that says "Options." In there, you'll be able to choose "map style" or something like that and it'll show you a few options. Pick the one where it's just the map full time and then the only time it'll change to a split screen is when you're about to turn.

I can confirm this is exactly how it can be done. When you get to the map display option you might see the map-only selected, but select it again any way. I think making a pass through the system after you have selected a destination is what does the trick.
