Grill cut out for lights

Has anyone cut the grill on their truck to slap 2 round lights like kc or Piaa in there? I have all the suspension done for desert running and i just don’t really like the idea of the light bar up top. Just seeing if there’s a good mounting point or even any spot at all that they can think of to make this work? Appreciate it and picture for reference.

Most just run them through the grill with hidden bumper brackets. See Rago

4Runner | Off-road Accessories & Mounting Solutions – Rago Fabrication

more specifically...

4Runner | Behind the Grill Light | 5th Gen – Rago Fabrication

I kind of want to stay away from led bars and rear mounts. I know Baja designs makes something like that as well I’m just looking to do something different

how about something like this? Perhaps still not what you are looking for but could be used with traditional LED fogs and not light bars.

If you are willing to stick a toyota heritage grill up there, you can stick a 20 to 30 inch single row light bar up there behind the upper grill with no mods.

I used rago fab behind the grill mounts, cut some 1/4" flat strap into brackets to extend from the mount behind the grille to in front of the grille, ordered a piece of extruded aluminum from tnutz, bolted 3 XL Pro's to the bar. they sit flush with the front of the bumper and pretty much fill the space vertically from the bottom fascia to the toyota emblem piece. pretty low profile minus the massive BD covers lol theres room to slide the lights closer and add 2 more, prolly get some xl 80's

not what you're doing, but its definitely different from what most do.

I just pulled this from the limited thread but yeah it definitely handles it pretty well already.

Baja kits 2” LT
custom fox 2.5 race LT coilovers built and tuned for this 4R
icon billet rear lower link(worthless but got it for like $50)
2.5 fox tundra rear shocks for more travel tuned for the 4Runner
Fox IFP bump stops for raptors that were tuned for 4R w/total chaos mounts
F 17” rims w/ 33” trail grap
Gussets and engine mounts done and a lot of body cutting

I guess I could throw a supercharger on it but I’m still working on other things for it. I just want to get the lights in as something different.

Grill cut out for lights

I mounted 2 BD LP9’s behind the grille but didn’t cut the grille out. Might be kind of what you are looking for.

I started with a Rago fabrication bracket but had to stiffen it up with two additional mounts in the middle.

Hope that helps if round lights are what you are after.

He has a limited front end...not gonna work unless he converts it to a non limited, or runs a light bar bracket, or chops his bumper. At that point, he might as well go aftermarket bumper.

I read the whole thread but didn’t pay close enough attention to the OP’s picture or the fact it was a Limited and couldn’t understand why everyone was recommending light bars when his question was for round lights …..I’m an idiot Grill cut out for lights.
