Thank you both for the info!! That makes sense.

Exclamation Viper Cuts & BMC chop getting ready for Suspension/Tires

To fit 285/75/17 (34") mud tires you need to get a BMC chop and do some high clearance cuts.

Well I really like the look of the C4Bumper and in preparation for getting something like kt, fitting 34" tire, and changing the look of the front end I got the viper cuts done.

Oh also got my plates in

Husband said he's not overly impressed with the welds on the BMC and how much they had to fill the area but the shop guranteed itll fit 35" tires and this is what they've had to do in the past.

Update on Suspension

Was told yesterday by ICON Vehicle Dynamics that icon stage 7 kit will be another 8-10 weeks, due to material shortage (guessing aluminum).

So far, we are at 27 weeks, I'm guessing the beginning of 2022 we might get it

Next Addition to the Toyota Family

I know this is a thread about my 4Runner build but my husband sent me this saying "Our next Toyota is a unit"

The welds look a little sloppy... but all that matter is that it holds

Love your plate btw! Nice work. Bumper cuts look sick... i've been tempted to make my cuts, but the c4 bumper and bumper cut pieces are supposed to arrive next week... but these days who knows lol. 10 more weeks for the suspension... bummer but it is what it is these days. From what I was told all the suppliers are having issues sourcing the shafts for the shocks.

Exactly! Not a huge deal

I'm jealous! c4 bumper and hi clearance cut pieces are next on the list.

It really sucks but can't do much about it. On a good note I got my shipping confirmation for my roof rack so that's going to be nice!

Waiting on some parts for the roof rack but so far it looks amazing!

We got a Southern Style OR Washer Fluid Reservoir Cover and it cleans up the viper cuts so much

Tuff Stuff Alpha RTT

Husband, his buddy, and myself spent yesterday figuring out how to rig up, and install the RTT so that it can almost be done with 1 person.

Used a amazon chain hoist
Large ratchet straps
Gorilla utility cart
Plyo Box
and a tree on our land

Here is what she looks like all mounted up!

RTT Engaged!

Went camping with our new RTT and got to try it out! We didn't put it up 100% perfect so it'll be better next time but it was already amazing.

The Tuff Stuff Alpha fit myself and my husband (6'2") + our husky without any issues. The annex is spacious and great for changing and storing stuff.

Super excited for our upcoming overlanding trip and so happy with our new tent!

Awesome thread, but needs more husky content!

I followed your harness idea for my husky too. Thanks for posting that.

The stock suspension will not allow for 34" tires, or can be adjusted depending on what you're doing. So i can spend $5.5k on Icon Stage 7 + Wheels and turn around and sell my TRD Pro suspension tires/wheels/suspension for over $3k. You are telling me for $2k you wouldnt want a full Icon Stage 7 Kit, Icon Wheels, and 34" tires?

Also calling me a bro, I appreciate your sexism but I am not a bro
I think the thought process is that the base MSRP of roughy 8k between the TRD ORP to the TRD Pro, isn’t worth the 3k you clear in harvested parts. Even with employee pricing, one would assume TRD Pro’s still command a premium over the ORP (a premium that does extend to resale values, which is point back in your favor). I only comment on this, because most of my career has been in finance, and evaluating opportunity costs of different options.

However, there was no need for him to be offended by how you choose to build your 4runner. We all value things differently. I’d love a lime rush pro, but my white ORP will have to do. Only thing that matters is that you are happy.

Looks good so far!
