CB Radio mount

I would like to mount my General HP-40W overhead. (to the rear of the over head light)

Does anyone know of a fabricator or manufacturer who makes an overhead mount strong enough to support the weight of this radio ?

The radio weighs at least 8 lbs.

I assume that there is nothing solid in the headliner to drill into for bolting the mounting bracket so some sort of metal channel would need to span overhead between the 2 front doors, & probably be bolted to where the grab handles are.

Another option might be to remove the passenger sunshade, & bolt a channel from the sunshade holes (closest to the rear view mirror) to the grab handle holes. (passenger side)

Any ideas ?

You might look at Victory's ceiling MOLLE panel. It sounds like it would fit what you are asking.

However, I'm not a fan of sticking hard corners up there in case of an accident/rollover, etc. Just food for thought.

Thanks for the input, I already contacted Victory & they said it wouldn't support the weight.
