Thank you for your efforts on this. I’ve been waiting specifically on the pro charger kit for my 21 pro. If tuning was available, I’d already have this kit on my 4Runner. Following for sure! 👍🏽🤙🏾

Update 10/9

UPDATE: HP Tuners still has the ECU, eta is still a little unclear but I am expecting to hear back on Monday or Tuesday regarding the status of the tune.

I think I have decided on the 3.5 Long Travel Total Chaos Kit. Going back and forth between having coil-overs built for me or ordering the kings set up. We will see on that.

I finished up the Victory 4x4 Rock sliders. They don't fit quite as nicely as I would hope. the tolerances are a little off giving uneven gaps but its close enough to where I don't think it will be noticeable to anyone but me. I am half way done wiring up the led lights located in the rock sliders to the switch pro. I removed the TRD Pro roof basket and it is available if someone is looking for one... DM for price and details.

I acquired a vinyl cutter! I made a vinyl instagram banner for my rear windows... color matched in lunar rock vinyl I have some more cool accents coming... Excited to share them.

I have added some additional parts to the shelf waiting for install.

- ComeUp Seal Slim Gen2 Off-Road Winch - Synthetic Rope - Hawse Fairlead 9,500 lbs
- ARB bluetooth controller for the twin compressor
- 30" baja designs WIDE LED light bar for the c4 low pro bumper

I am expecting my c4 bumper and bumper cut trim pieces on 10/18. We will see if I can fit the winch in under the intercooler. I think some modification of the intercooler mounting and the c4 bumper may be unavoidable, but we will see!

Still waiting for the Victory 4x4 strike rear bumper, & Modified ARB roof rack

order custom anodized kings and get the right spring rate and valving to account for the extra weight up front while youre at it.



fyi the anodize and spring colors never match right, black springs are safe.

Order Update

SCS Gen 5 wheels 17x8 -38 offset wheels in black are on the way. Was able to secure a set of 5 from a new pal on instagram. Set of 5 on the way!

Ordered a set of 35x12.5 Nitto Trail Grapplers to go on the wheels

Total Chaos BMC plates

Ordered ADV Fiberglass fenders...

Hopefully will have some word on the LT set up this week. The build is coming together... Hopefully by December 1 everything will at least be on order. The last big piece to arrive is almost certainly going to be the coilovers and shocks for the LT setup.

Bumpers are expected within a week or two... I am so ready to get this beast on the road and then immediately find a place to get it off the road and in the mud

My mind is blown that a 12.5” wide tire will fit a rim size of 7.5”-11.5” wide. But if you’re good you’re good!

Just thought of something. What will be the result of a company who doesn’t sell superchargers tuning your ECU? Will we have to buy the Magnuson part and buy the tune from HPT?

I think there is some misunderstanding. The process for tuning the ECU requires a device to pull the "stock tune" file off the ECU. That file is then sent to the tuner (in my case it is Procharger) and then the ECU is re-flashed with the same device with a modified file embedded with the new values for the tune.

HP Tuner makes the devices used to pull or read the stock tune file. I sent my ECU to them so they could pull that file and then send it to Procharger. They offer Tuning support (ability to read and reflash ECU's) not the tunes or maps themselves.

Magnusson had /has their own tool that accomplishes this task, but you are still required to send the file to Magnusson have their tuners edit it and then they send it back to you. I believe they are using HP Tuners tool now, but I may be incorrect about that.

All of this to say... HP Tuners were not successful in pulling that file. The next step for tuning for my build is on hold until a TSB is released from Toyota for the ECU, which will give tuners a door into reading and re-flashing ECU.

I have made some decisions on the build and placed some more orders.
This week after learning that HP Tuners was not able to pull the stock tune file from my ECU, I was pretty bummed and had to make a decision.

Do I....

A. Remove the pro-charger kit and re-assemble the 4R and put it back on the road.

OR

B. Decide quitting is for quitters, double down and use the downtime to take the build to the next level.

If you know me... this was a quick decision.

I placed a substantial order from Total Chaos for a front & rear long travel suspension system 3.5+ Race Series w/ long travel king bypass shocks front & rear & long travel king coil-overs. I will upload the parts list for it shortly.

Along with the Suspension decision, I was able to acquire a set of -38 SCS wheels that I will fit with 35x12 Nitto Trail Grapplers.

I also placed an order for Fiberglass ADV fenders that I expect to have by the end of the month.

Once I have completed the install of the long travel system, fenders & 35's... as well as have fitted the front and rear bumpers & winch I will revisit the removal of the procharger kit. BUT for now I pray twice a day for a ECU TSB from Toyota.

ETA for all these parts is first week of November. (yes... king parts as well )

I tried to crop all personal stuff out… missed that one. Oops. Everyone has their own route in life I never judge, but if you can’t afford it today and you put it on credit… tomorrow won’t be much different. Especially if you overspend, hopefully the build gets some attention at some point and pays back some of the money spent on building it. If not… I’ll enjoy every minute behind the wheel. Thanks for the support and reading the build!
