Supercharger/Turbo fuel Starvation

While preparing to install my URD Supercharger I noted there was a recommendation to not run the fuel tank below 1/4. It appears the container the pump sits in may restrict flow to the pump (the pump can empty the container faster than it can flow in).

This may be a problem with many forced induction cars as they tend to use fuel faster than what the manufacturer had initially designed for.

A possible solution is using a Fuel Surge Tank like the one here:

Is anyone running something like this and what are your experiences?
Where did you mount it
How did you power it
Did you have any fuel starvation issues while screwing around at WOT?

I run a Magnuson and usually fill up around the 70 miles to empty range. I’ve never noticed an issue running below 1/4 of a tank but then again I’m really WOT.

Does one not upgrade injectors and fuel pump when adding forced induction on a Toyota?

Maybe it could be a problem if you are flooring it while climbing a very steep hill. Other than that I think it is overcautious in this application because the fuel demand in the 4runner is really not going to be that much more than OEM.

A fuel surge tank would be way overkill for such a small amount of boost and low fuel demand.

Magnuson has a rather mild, albeit, satisfactory tune which doesn't require any recommended upgrades to the fuel system. That said, if yer gonna push it, you'd definitely want to upgrade.

Smart ass answer ... fuel for a turbocharged engine. HEH! To be honest, I've not heard of it. Takin' a WAG, I'd say it has more octane to reduce the chance of detonation under boost.

so i have the URD for i think 3+ years now.
I've gotten low below 50 miles range, but once i get to about 75 mile range, i drive a bit more gentle with no WOT. URD recommends not going below 1/4 tank for safety reasons. I think you are fine going below 1/4 as long as you aren't going crazy on the throttle.
