Trading "free" oil changes for supplies possible?

Has anyone had success getting dealers to just give you the oil+filter+oring when you're in the free 24k maintenance window?

It's honestly more of a hassle and waste of time to drop my car off to have them service it compared to just doing it myself. Plus I don't trust the monkeys to not strip my bolts, install the filter correctly, stain my interior, etc...

There's a free 24k window for oil changes? My dealership didn't mention this to me at all about any free maintenance included..
I just bought my first oil filter for it, planning to do it very soon.

The free scheduled service is in the USA. May not be in Canada.

No. They're not just going to give you the supplies. They use bulk oil from a drum.

I have been given the 7 quarts of TGMO oil, oil filter (with both gaskets), and drain plug gasket, in lieu of having their 'lube tech' defile my vehicle.

The service writer DID say I was the first to ever ask. But the service manager knew me when I was a Master Tech at another Toyota dealer years ago, which may have influenced their agreeing to the deal.

I suppose it is possible. When I bought my '13 FJ Cruiser new I took it to the dealer for a recall before the first oil change was due. When the service writer asked me about scheduling the first service I told her that I like to do maintenance myself. She told me that she would get me the oil & filter for free each time if I wanted. I never did take her up on it though as I didn't feel like having to go through the service department each time. In any case ask your dealer, can't hurt to try.

That's cool to hear thanks.

It seems hardly worth the trip and trouble. Filter is $4, washer $1 from many Toyota dealers online and Oil you probably want something better than dyno stuff in 55 lb barrel they use.

Not to mention there's a chance the Tech can strip the drain bolt, or forget to tighten it properly, and not let all the oil drain out. This is why I always do my own oil changes on any car, just a piece of mind.

After a bad oil change experience for my "Toyota (Doesn't) Care" maintenance I complained and the service manager offered me yet another "Free" oil change, but also offered to give me the supplies if I preferred to do it myself. I was so angry with them that I told them just to keep it and not bother, but it was offered as an option to me

That is awfully generous of him I would tell him to shove it up his... Now, if he had Whole set of Air filters (cabin and engine) oil filters and all fluids I might of paused for 7 seconds ...... but then I'd tell him to shove all that up his...!

Well I stopped by the closest dealer Riverview in Mesa AZ.
Service people there said no way, no how. I'm sure they don't want to miss out on the opportunity to sell me a 120$ air filter replacement or a 70$ nitrogen tire purge.
