no issues for me at 5'9" 185 . Only time I felt uncomfortable was during a 17 hour drive, but stopped for a jog at a park to help. There is a seat riser that has some good reviews but I havent bought them.

Desert Does It seat jackers helped me a lot. They do have you sit higher, so it might not work for taller people. There is a long thread review somewhere on here.

Seat Jackers
The seat Jackers are an interesting idea. My issue is the left side bolster. It hits me in my lower back and ribs... It makes for a VERY uncomfortable ride. I think I will need to swap seats, I have driven and owned many vehicles. I have never had this issue, even with performance and race seats.

Seats are KILLING my back/ribs. Am I alone?
I’m 6’3”, 195 lbs., middle-aged. My seats (2021 Pro) are fine.

This is my 4th 4Runner 5th gen, and yes the seats are pretty crappy. All mine have had the Softex seats (14 Trail premium, and 3 Pros- never had a limited or cloth seats), and anything over 2 hours starts to suck. I find the seats in the Jeep Wrangler to be way more comfortable. I’ve done 13 hours in a Wrangler with no issue, but just did 11 1/2 hours a couple of weeks ago and was miserable. I’m 6 foot and 180 lbs and just find the seats too hard on long trips. Another thing that bothers me in the 4Runner is the arm rest on the door is lower than the center console and bothers my shoulder, so I have to put memory foam pad on the arm rest for long trips. But I still like the vehicle so I suffer.

19 Pro, 6’1” 220, Seat jackers are the best. I have them for both the drivers and passenger seat. My son & I couldn’t drive more than thirty minutes before our legs and backs would start to hurt. I did a marathon drive this past summer 32 hours of driving in 38 hours. No, problems at all after that drive. Stupid things we do, to keep the wife happy.

I’m 6”, 220. I agree that the seats could be better, but I’ve never had an issue with the side bolsters. The lumbar area is what will bother me on long drives. It seems like it hits me right where my belt sits and causes a pressure point. Occupation and hobbies require me to wear a sturdy belt that is thicker than most. I have wondered if (never tried) wearing a slimmer belt would help.

No issues on mine and I do 3 hour trips regularly. 6'2" 210. Of the cars that I've had I'd say they rank closer to the top. Not the best, but pretty good. My favorite seats we've ever had were from my wifes old Lexus RX330. We did 14 hours straight for vacation one year and they were great. Wonder if they'd bolt into our 4runner.

I’ve done 12 hr trips with no issues.
Rear of the seat all the way down, 3 small bumps up in the front. Backrest adjusted to slight angle back.
Lumbar totally contracted, no side bolster issues.

The 4Runner seats are a love/hate sort of thing. Compared to a Tacoma they're wonderful, but compared to some higher end vehicles they're freaking awful. I'm currently in a Tesla model Y which is the only vehicle ive owned that has less comfortable seats than the 4R. I'm trading in the Y for a 21 TRDP and have every intention of installing a recaro seat like i told myself id do on my last one. The audi i had opened my eyes to proper seating posture & bolstering. It wont address the left-shifted steering wheel but at least my back will feel better. Will update when i finally get the project going.
Oh, and im 6'4, 250 & the body is beat to hell.

Actually, I find the Tacoma passenger seat much better than the 4Runner passenger seat. The 4Runner seat is stiff and hard, whereas the Tacoma seat has some give and makes for a more comfortable ride.
As far as the driver's seat, they're both about equal. The Tacoma seat is a little softer, but not too soft... but I still prefer the 4Runner seat.
This is comparing a '19 4Runner ORP to a '19 Tacoma TRD OR.
