21 ORP window de-icer switch revised wiring diagram?

Howzit All!

Was wondering if anyone knew about revised wiring info for the Windshield de-icer switch on the dash. I believe it might have been changed somewhere in the 20/21 Gen 5's but not finding to much info regarding the pinouts. Got a green that reads like a ground on my MM and no grey.

I'm wanting to isolate the 12v + ground to tap in to the dimmer circuit for some new OEM type dash switches I am installing.

Appreciate any insight!

Well I tried the connections this AM, but did not get it to work. I have been reticent about removing the driver kick panel to get full access which I surmise is the issue. I am using the removable type taps so Im not totally sure that I tapped the (WHITE) 12v connection wire properly. led switch works still just no illumination. I will test asap + relay results as I have 3 more switches to add.

I been getting reports of my images not showing up, please let me know if that is the case for this post.

Glad you found the bad connection.

Positaps are the best route even though they take up more room!

Post your pics when you get all switches in place.

21 ORP window de-icer switch revised wiring diagram?

Saker-

I’m working with an AOB switch for my ARB on my 2020… all wired close to what your diagram helped out with for the OP. However, when I go to dim my dash lights, the AOB light works in reverse… it brightens!

And yea, positaps are the bomb.

Thoughts?

Hmmmmm,

Does the switch perform properly to control the ARB?

Double check your connections from your power & to make sure the AOB switch wiring pin location is correct.
I would disconnect the ARB and just try the switch with no load.

It should be something simple… is your ground good?

Yes switch operations are normal except for the reversal of light dimming. And I’ll double check the ground/wiring this weekend.
