2015 Trail Base.

Was going to upgrade suspension/wheels/tires so it didn't make sense for me to pay more for something I would eventually replace. Had dealer put in heated leather seats and a moonroof for OTD price. Called it a day.

I had an '03 SR5, and who ever said there a cheap vehicle or they didn't want to look cheap in it was completely wrong I loved that car or SUV we took it off-roading all the time. One winter we got about a foot of snow here in North Carolina which very rarely happens and we couldn't get it stuck anywhere we tried snowdrifts off in trails over trees in the snow It didn't matter It was gone It did not stop. I wish I still had that vehicle to this day!

Trail

I picked up a trail 4x4 and the main reason is it has crawl, A-trac multi mode selections and rear lockers.

21 ORP. Wanted all the off road goodies plus a sunroof. Family and I are shorties so head space isn't a big issue. Would have bought a pro but there wasn't anything remotely near msrp around me. Wasn't interested in any trims in between.

2020 Silver ORP

I wanted the off-road goodies and sunroof and liked the black pleather. I intended to install a mild lift suspension, and bigger tires, so I didn't see the point of paying extra for a TRD PRO suspension and gutting it. I also thought that the basket TRD PRO roof rack was kind of ugly and I was wondering if a lifted TRD PRO with that rack would fit into my garage. I generally heard good things about KDSS with a lift as long as it was less than 3 inches. Two years later, I am happy with my decisions. I would have liked the climate control of the TRD PRO. I am still tempted to get a "Heritage Grill". The non-functional hood scoop that seems popular with a lot of people seems a little silly to me. It also caused a glare problem when the sun was at lower angles. (I've had several eye surgeries) I was considering swapping to an SR5 hood, but instead put a BeyondWraps vinyl hood stamp. It solved the glare problem and looks great. My lower budget Bilstein 5100s ride great and the 33s look right and give me some good traction. For the most part, I think an SR5 would probably make it as far as I have been on the trails, but having the option of a rear locker gives me a little peace of mind.

I chose TRD OffRoad because it's the most stylish from SR5 and Limited.

... And I couldn't justify the PRO because of cost.

Just wanted a blizzard pearl 4x4 for expecting first child. Steps stayed on for 5 years until my son was able to handle sliders.

OR. Didn’t want leather or sunroof. Preferred Toytec suspension and Nitto tires. Added the Pro Grill.

ORP. It was the only 4x4 model in stock within 200 miles and I was feeling impulsive. Turns out I love the softex and sunroof, and the XP package gave me the Nitto Ridge Grapplers and TRD wheels. I also like that I can leave it stock and still get to 90-95% of the places I want to go.

I have a 2020 SR5. Just needed the basic 4WD and 3rd row seats. I ended up liking all the other things about it like the safety sense, wifi, auto high beam, android auto, atrac, downhill assist, TPMS and pressure for each tire. since then, i've installed the toyota camera and removed the 3rd row and built a platform made of plywood. i've also upgraded my spare with the same alloy wheel since i like rotating my spare tire too. now i have a storage underneath it to store not frequently used items. worked pretty well for me and my wife.

We chose a 2019 TRD off-road. Specifically not the premium

We wanted:
1. KDSS
2. ATRAC
3. CRAWL control
4. rear locker
5. a minimum of gizmos like seat heaters and heated mirrors (we live in So-Cal and can deal with cold every once in a while)

Seemed to find that in the TRDOR for the price we were looking for.

We got an SR5 4x4 because my wife wanted a 4Runner and I already had/have a Rubicon with lockers and we thought the Jeep would remain the off-road travel vehicle.
At the time we didn't want leather or need the extra offroad stuff but....

Nowadays after driving it and loving it more than I thought, I wish we would have bought a Trail (now Off-Road) premium trim with leather, a sunroof, and a locker since it's our main long-distance exploring vehicle and family hauler.

The Jeep is awesome but the 4Runner is better for long distances for our whole family.

2022 ORP Reserved, coming to port November 6th

Can't wait to get my ORP. Super white with softex. Upgrading tires asap. Loved the look of the ORP and most dealers here are mid to upper $50,000 range for the pro. And I don't want to deal with the rack removal since I won't likely use it.
