Stronger Rear Hatch Struts

2016 LE 4Runner. Can someone recommend stronger rear hatch struts that are good quality? Would going back to OEM be a better choice than aftermarket?Added a ladder and now the struts are not wanting to keep the rear hatch open as before.
I do have a roof top tent as well. How is the installation and reliability?

Much appreciated

Amazon.com: Qty (2) Fits 4Runner 2010 To 2021 Liftgate Lift Supports Models with Added Lifting Pressure for Ladder : Automotive

this is what you need. installation was simple. YOU will need someone to hold the hatch up for you though, or something to prop it up while you change out the struts, or ya might hurt yourself.

Thanks,

I have read that some of these, not necessarily these particular ones have failed causing some damage. Something to do with installation or how they are made. Now, that was an old article.

What is the best HD rear door strut for use with ladder

Heavyweight rear hatch struts?

Beefy hatch struts for ladder / weight bearing?

probably installation error, due to incredibly dangerous instructions floating around on the internet.
