You did well. Expect the new 6th gen to sell for about $20K more than what you paid. I just saw a YouTube video from a dealer showing spec sheets of Tundras being built. SR5 for $62K! Limited and platinum models approaching $70K. TRD Pro will most likely be north of $70K.

That will definitely be out of my price range. I’m just going to enjoy this 4R for what it is. I wouldn’t mind a hybrid 4R. Leasing now gives me options next year.

Getting windows tinted now. Ordered a Lockerdown console safe. Also ordered the Canvasback to protect the carpet. No suspension mods planned.

I'm Back

I could have gone darker with the tint since the beige interior makes it look lighter, but I ran limo tint all the way around on my Outback and night driving was really dark. I also wanted it to look legal. So this is 20% all the way around.

The new car market overall is absurd, especially trucks and desirable SUVs. Too much new tech and add ons are making prices out of control and honestly unattainable for most without egregious financing. It's horrible.

Crazy thing is I had both those products in my closet 4 months ago. If only I had waited to sell them. Prices have gone up on both since I bought them.

Yeah I know. They wanted $2k more than I paid for for Pro for this SR5P. That was the top of my budget and I think its all I need. A-Trac and 4WD should be more than I need. Crawl control and a rear locker probably wouldn't be used much. Some things I noticed about this 4R are the LED's still have that annoying dead spot and cutoff. No other vehcile I have driven have had those. Not a big deal. I definitely like the RCTA and blind spot tech. The engine and tranny is so much more predictable and smooth than the CVT. The Outback was a great handling car, but the 4R is just much sturdier feeling even if it drives like a boat.

I actually thought I would hate the interior with all the silver plastic, but I actually prefer it to the Pro's carbon fiber and piano black trim pieces. Happy to be back in the 4R.

Looks good. Level it and get some black roof rails.

That will happen in due time. Just had other needs first. My console safe will be here today. I'm getting remote start installed at 9am. Tint is done. Canvasback will be here next week. Thats $1200 spent in first 50 miles. I'm thinking a 1" spacer in front will fix most of the rake without destroying the ride quality. Since its a lease, I don't want to go crazy with a suspension. If I decide to buy this at the end, I will do a suspension at that time. On the lookout for black rails, but I'm not sure if I want to black out everything since there is some silver plastic on the interior. I've done that on every vehicle and the sliver parts are kinda growing on me. Maybe I'm just being lazy.

I had plans to murder-out mine and never got around to it. I'm glad I didn't, to each his own though.

After selling my TRD Pro at a profit, I bought a 2022 Outback Wilderness. It was a very nice car and drove awesome. It was also the quirkiest car I've ever owned. The CVT was so annoying. I did a trip to Colorado in September shortly after buying it. It did amazingly well on and off road.

On a daily basis, the CVT was very quirky. The iPad sized screen was distracting and scratched easily. The ac controls are just a small space and frequently I missed the button I was trying to push. I hate the touchscreen. It was a love/hate relationship, but I was never truly happy and I missed the 4R. So on a whim I went to my dealership and there were 2 4R's on the lot. A silver Off Road and a nautical blue with beige Softex SR5 Premium. They were asking way more obviously for the silver one. Asking $54 for the SR5P. I said no way. I will buy it right now for $45K. They said no way. We haggled for about 5 times and we settled at $46K. They gave me $2K more than I paid for my Outback so I jumped on it. Nick is also proud to be back in a 4R.

I immediately had some buyers remorse with the color because it will show every scratch, but I didn't want to wait. In the sun is when the scratches will show, but it is what it is. I'm just glad to be back in a 4R.

Early plans for it:
**Tint tomorrow
**Ordered a Lockerdown Console safe
**Canvasback
Congrats on the purchase!

I have a coupon code TRDHULK10 for 10% off Canvasback through the end of the year

Damn it. Too late and I paid extra to have it rush shipped. No big deal. Thanks for the heads up. Maybe somebody else will see this post and take advantage of it.
