What tool are you all liking for removal of the filter housing?
I see a few options. I need to snag one in the next few months.

I received mine the other day. The box I received was in good condition and looks exactly like the box i have from the dealer. But the individual boxed filters from the dealer do have a more bold printing on them compared to the amazon box. Hologram stickers look the same as the dealers. And as mentioned above. The filters from amazon do have a lighter color. Both the amazon and dealer squeezed about equally. On the amazons, 3 out of the 10 filters have 43 pleats and the rest have 44. The dealers are mixed also, some having 43 and some 44. Overall the amazon filters do look high quality and I will not hesitate to use them. Not bad for the $8 bucks.

I received mine today. Compared the box to a dealer one and the only difference is a code on the side where the part number is. Amazon one is CA and the dealer is CB. Maybe date code or factory?
Can't tell about color since I don't have a dealer filter in hand. But the squeeze test felt similar to memory. They also showed up in a Lexus/Toyota box.

In anyone's interested Sparks Toyota in SC has OEM 0w-20 for 4.70$ a quart shipped. There was a free shipping code on their main page. I ordered 36 quarts Monday and 10 plug gaskets . Shipped today.
EDIT: Well shoot looks like it's up to 5.x something now. There's a few dealers with it at 5.x. Maybe if you spent some time on Google you could find one sub 5.

I got mine and carefully compared them to two different OEM filters I have. This was a great deal, thanks to all contributors to the thread.

Received mine last week. After careful comparison with my stock from the local dealer, they appear by all accounts to be legitimate parts.

I thought I’d throw up some pics of one of these filters after 7100 miles and 10 months of use.
Filter looks fine to me, it definitely didn’t disintegrate like the one on the Car Care Nut video.
The glue on the ends might have become hardened but I’ve never checked that before on previous filters.
The last pic is of dealer purchased OEM filters, new and used, for comparison.

I was looking at my Fuelly account and noted I’ve spent $19,542.56 on gas for my 4Runner over the past 13 years….but I still love a deal when I can get it.
