Someone stole both of my side mirrors

Got in my truck this morning and noticed my drivers’ mirror was broken off. Look over and see the passenger one is gone too

Get where I’m going wondering if it was just vandalism (I have no potential enemies here) and notice the wires are cut clean as close to the truck as possible. STOLEN! SOB

Anyone else ever heard of mirrors being stolen?

Anyone have a pair of Mag Grey mirrors for a Limited they aren’t using?

Rant over

Yes LOL
I guess that would be worse

Unfortunately when my last policy renewed I raised my comprehensive deductible from $200 to $500 and my body shop quoted me just under $1000 for the repair. Not worth the inevitable rate increase….

That sucks. Sorry that happened. Hopefully karma will get the thief in the end. Good luck, OP.

Thanks man!

I found unpainted replacements from rockauto and paid extra to get them here on Thursday so I can get them installed on Friday because I have to be in NYC this weekend. I’ll paint them myself Thursday night, easy enough. I happen to still have paint and primer from when I fixed the rust on my door sill. Total for both plus shipping was $286 so not too bad, fortunately

Anyone have the pages on replacing them from the repair manual? I’d love to save the $250 instead of paying a shop to do it

FYI - there are threads (you can search for) on folding mirror conversions for the 4Runner that describe the removal and install of the mirror Assy. that should be helpful. As I remember, you have to remove the door panel to gain access which involves disconnecting the door latch cables and other stuff. There are threads on how to do this that are part of the door lock actuator replacement issues that many users have experienced over the years. I'd also look in the Stickies for help too.

I had to replace my passenger side mirror last month after it was destroyed by an overturned road sign.
I used a YouTube video and it went like clockwork, except for door panel clips that fall out, but the video addressed that issue so I was ready for it.

Thanks guys! I’ll cancel my appointment because that looks easier than pie =)
Especially since I’ve already taken off my door panels before

I think the part was around $200 for drivers side when i bought one. It is about a 10 minute job to replace it by yourself

Damn, I can't believe what this world has come to...stealing other people's mirrors, like really! I never heard of this before, although in my area, catalytic converters are a hot item, glad my 4R sleeps in the garage, less chance of that happening.

I'm guessing the factory alarm is nowhere near sensitive enough to go off during such an event?

Hello fellow firearms enthusiast.

Good luck on those aftermarket mirrors.
