The real object of these cheap amplifiers is not to steal stuff out of your vehicle, but to steel the vehicle because they can not only unlock it, they can start it.
I use the deactivate mode every time I leave the vehicle. It was really designed as a fob battery saver but turns out to be a good anti vehicle theft feature.
