Entunes/Toyota App

I have a 2018 limited. This morning the head unit’s software automatically updated, and this evening I get a message when logging on to my Iphone’s entunes app that the Entune Suite is now migrated to Toyota App. I downloaded and I can log in to that app (and enter my car vin etc) but there’s no app connection to the car. I am logged in from my iPhone to the Bluetooth, but no Entune suite features at all in the app.

Is there an entunes function within the Toyota app now? If so how do I connect? I’m really just concerned about the software updates through the app. Thanks.

Same issue here. It appears Toyota may have abandoned the pre 2020 4Runner models.

One of the main reasons I plan to replace my stock HU in the coming months: it’s complete trash and dated looking/functioning

I would guess that the hardware in the head unit can support Apple CarPlay, all it needs is the right software. I would happily pay Toyota a reasonable amount for such an update! I'm not holding my breath though...
