4WD Shift Lever
I have not used 4WD for a few months or more. A few days ago went to the local mountains to get some snow time. I have a 2013 Trail with the transfer case lever. In the past it always engaged and disengaged OK. On this trip, it went into 4HI OK, but after a while in a snow area at 30 degrees, I decided to play with 2 HI. The lever moved forward, but did not feel correct, a bit of resistance. It stayed in 4HI. I decided to not mess with it as I needed 4HI to get out of the area. The next day at home and back up to 45 degrees it went into and out of 4HI with no problems. I don't think the front actuator froze up, but was wondering if it was bound up due to lack of use. Maybe I will engage 4HI more often and hope it does not happen again.
While there I turned on M/T and got a good 4 wheel spin a few times and it went where I pointed it. Still enjoying my old 4Runner.

Sometimes, placing the transmission into neutral and letting the truck roll forward or back a bit will help get the gears engaged right.

sounds typical, especially in colder weather. Like mentioned above, any load will give resistance during the switch. It's a special club to have the lever!

WE got a total of about 6" this week. About 1-2" last night and snowing this AM. Don't need to but will switch to 4H just to keep it lubed up when I go to strength training in about a 1/2 hour.
