Larger Tires and ToyotaCare

After putting 33” tires on my 2021 Nightshade, I find myself wondering if my 55,000 mile Toyotacare and/or warranty will be affected. My question is not related to coverage resulting from failure/damage, but more so about the fact that the Speedo/odo should now be approximately 5% off from stock tires.
Anyone have any experience on this one? Would the dealer honor the 55,000, 5% less or just tell me I voided my ToyotaCare since the odo may not be accurate anymore? Similarly would the warranty mileages be honored? Seems pretty frivolous, but I wouldn’t be surprised in either case.

If you’re concerned about warranty don’t mod the vehicle

Not really my question, but based on the reply, I’m guessing you don’t have experience related to my specific question. Thanks anyway and have a merry Xmas.

You will be fine. I highly doubt the idiots at the dealership even know the stock size of the tires.

With all your suspension and electrical mods, I don't think they'd need a 5% odometer error to get out of a repair if they wanted to.

The issue is they don’t need to build a case to decide not to honor the warranty.

They’re idiots in the sense that they’ll NOT honor is without substantiating.

My uncle brought a Toyota in for a oil consumption concern (at the same dealer he bought it new from) and shop told him his warranty was void because they “found fingerprints on the oil cap”.

My question is more about ToyotaCare, as I have the coverage through 55,000 miles. Although, I basically paid nothing for it, I might as well get the free maintenance, regardless of my mods.
I only threw the warranty into the question as it relates to similar mileage thresholds. On that note, I’ve read more than a couple threads about people having success bringing a copy of the magnuson-moss act along just in case. Not sure how often that does or doesn’t work, but I do realize with every mod, I may have challenges with warranty claims. But it’s a Toyota, hopefully I won’t have any warranty claims.

I change my own engine and gear oils, rotate my tires, and check the wear on the brakes. Never took the vehicle in for the free services, for several reasons: I need to know my vehicle, I enjoy it, I don't trust others not to over-torque bolts or strip threads, and I'd rather miss add-on sales pitches with the free services. I balance those against the loss of "service records". With all the mods and pinstripes, I don't think dealer service records are going to count for much.

Seems like you're preparing for something that hasn't happened yet?
My rig was lifted on 33's from about 3,000 miles. In addition to the Toyota care I negotiated the extended care for free. Never during that whole time did anyone say "boo" about any mods. Mainly the were excited to work on the rig and wanted to talk about what had been done to it. I guess that's somewhat dependent on the dealership but I wouldn't worry about it too much.

That’s good to hear. Thank you. Hopefully my local dealership has like-minded techs too.
