Timbren Bumpstops + LCA + Spacer

Hey Guys,

I just want to share some info since it was hard to find (for me anyways).

I have Fox 2.5 suspension installed on my car with complete Timbren Active Off-Road Bumpstops, so later on i decided to go for Dirt King LCA since it gives 1 extra inch of travel and clearance for the vehicle, but i noticed it came with a 1/2" bump stop spacers for OEM bumpstops.

Sadly i don't know where i placed my OEM bumpstops and i couldn't find any information about OEM vs Timbren in terms of length, And by looking at the pictures for both bumpstops online it seems like the Timbren was longer and bigger.

But anyways it turned out that the OEM and Timbren is almost the same, the Timbren is less than 1/4" longer than OEM, and it wasn't touching the LCA, So i had to replace the bolt that came with Timbren bumpstops, i had to use a 40mm fully threaded M8 socket head screws.

Long story short, if you install LCA you with Timbren front bumpstops, you need 40mm long fully threaded m8 socket head screw.

When I made a video about the Timbrens last year, I noticed the length is almost the same too, just more rubber to contact sooner.

No concern that the bump stops wont function properly given their height and changes in travel?

If you wanted definitive confirmation that the bumpstops would stop uptravel prior to the shock bottoming out, you can remove the springs then reinstall and cycle with a jack.

Or play it safe and install the spacer.

I'm confused as to why the spacer is required. Is the DK LCA at an angle or lowered at the bump pad? The increase in downtravel would be unrelated as that is most likely just due to the balljoint at the spindle and/or angle of the arm.

I'm pretty sure it's because the bump stop would sit lower due to the way the arms are fabricated. Without the spacer, the bumps most likely wouldn't engage properly

Another option, Energy Suspension 8.9104R
Energy Suspension 8.9104R rear bump stops in place of front bump stops

to rest of ya'lls, thats what i use on my TC LCA's.. i didn't use the provided bumpstop spacer from TC since the ES bumpstops were already extended 1 inch. However, to those who are considering this route, you can still put the extensions if you want, but YMMV.

Also, be sure to get red...lol
