Can someone tell me what the road icon with snowflake means??

This showed up today on my display above the trip and next to temperature.

It snowed last night and it's currently 34 degrees so is this just telling me there's snow outside or is there some kind of feature that turned on in my car because of potential icy roads?

I apologize if this is a basic question but I read through the whole manual and couldn't find this anywhere.

Thanks!

You broke the snow and ice mode.

Its just a warning there may be ice at ~40 and below. Apparently we forgot that water freezes at ~32 degrees.

Lol thank you! I'm guessing there will be other messages I'll eventually see.

Actually I think its the only one. lol

Besides the "maintenance due soon/now" which reminds you at 5k (and every mile after) to change the oil at 10k.

In the user manual it’s called the “ice indicator” in the Other Interior Features section, Outside Temperature Display.

■ Ice indicator
If the outside temperature lowers to 37°F (3°C) or below when the engine switch is in the “ON” position (vehicles without a smart key system) or the engine switch is in IGNITION ON mode (vehicles with a smart key system), the indicator will come on to warn the driver that roads may be icy. Check the road surface and drive carefully. (The indicator will go off when the outside temperature rises to 41°F [5°C].)

Snowflake? I think you might have gotten close to a leftist liberal.

I’ve seen it snow numerous times when the temp was above 40 F. Highest temp I’ve seen it snow was 46 F. It’s all dependent on the temps where the snow forms above.

In all actuality thats true, but bridges with wind can freeze at 40 and below. Here in West Texas we see thisa ll the time. No one slows down for overpasses and crashes happen often.

Why do bridges freeze before roads? - YouTube

Black ice... with rain... above freezing.

Worst one I saw. It was raining, but above freezing off the ground... but the ground itself was below freezing temperature.

A thin layer of black ice formed and I was 'along for the ride'.
Slid into a turnout (gravel). At the bottom of the hill was a bridge with a downhill coming the other way. People couldn't move on the bridge and it turned into a carnage down there.

Translation: Wintertime, watch out.
