First image you can kind of see how snug the bottom is. It doesn't sit in the window channel and you can see slack on the netting from how the shade has to sit "in front of" the support bar for the small rear window section. the overall shade also needs to be maybe 1/8" narrower (front-to-back, not top-to-bottom) as if it weren't magnetic it'd probably pop out of the back side. it's a very snug fit but that's not necessarily good because the window frame has a slight angle towards the interior of the car.

In the second image you can see that the top portion has a slight bend to it; not a big deal just expected perfect fit for $100+. This may work itself out over time also.

overall happy with these. i paid about $90 from the aus website as they had a sale and it was cheaper than the US even with shipping. US snapshades is a distributor and not technically part of snapshades.com.au so they won't honor sales. they might price-match if you ask. fabric is high quality and definitely works well and protects well.

Edit: see my post a few posts below. I sound critical of them, but these are really, really nice and I’ll gladly buy them for any car I own in the future.

Ordered thru Aussie site both the back door as well as cargo area ones.

Cheaper, even with tax and shipping, than US site and US did not have cargo area in stock.

Sorry, I have been on long term hiatus.
The SnapShades are holding up awesome, I haven’t removed them since the original post. No fears anymore driving with the windows down.

Bought some for a RAV4 that include the cargo windows. Those came with clips you can use to keep the shades on better. Essentially just lodging a piece of plastic between the shade and window sill.

For those that want total blackout I would recommend Strawfoot. Used there shades for the cargo area. Highly recommend if you have the molle panels over the windows.

does a magnet need to be taped on the 4R or do they automatically magnet onto the window frame?

No magnet required for the rear doors.

Mine came yesterday and installed.

Very good fit both rear doors and cargo area. Rear door windows go up and down, No problems. Stay in place just fine.

Cargo area clips that hold in place did not need trimming as online generic install instructions said May be needed.

They did not come with install instructions so here is a link to them.

Snap Shades(R) Installation Instructions

Plenty of pictures in this thread so I did not take any.

Very pleased with the product.

As a side question - do you think these could act as a bug screen? To let air in but not the mosquitoes?

I think the fit could be iffy for bugs as they are not too snug up against the window frame. I think Small ants could easily get in but winged insects, probably not, unless they are really tiny. JMHO.

Follow-up to this; going to edit my other post also.

I’ve had these for however long now, like 6 months or something. Yea they’re not perfect fit, but they’re a solid A. It’s like scoring a 96-99 on a test out of 100; it’s A or A+ territory, but it’s not quite 100. I agree they won’t let winged insects in but ants would get through fine if they climbed the car and found the small openings (see pictures in my post above for these “openings”)

These are fantastic. I just put them in this morning because it was sunny, it’s literally 10 seconds a door, and it reminded me how much I actually like them. If you need sun shades I don’t think you can do better. I’ll absolutely buy this brand for any other cars I own in the future as long as I have kids (and even after that. My parents use them on RV trips)

Another post to bump this, because I think long-term thoughts are important.

I'll be buying these again for whatever car replaces the 4Runner. Anyone with kids, these are well worth the premium cost over those ridiculous universal sun shades, window socks, etc. that are one-size-fits-all. These aren't perfect, but they're really, really good. Every time I put them in I appreciate that I chose to spend $100 on window shades.
