Wescott Racks and General Rack Questions

Happy New Year all. I am looking at racks to put on my 4runner. I was looking at Gobi racks but their lead times are insane. Does anyone have any experience with Westcott racks and ladders. Wanted to see what owner's thoughts are. I also wanted to poll owners on their ladders...did they keep stock struts or change them out. Any issues handling the weight.

I was looking at Prinsu, but don't want to mix and match rack and ladder. Prefer a uniform clean look.

Mahalo all.

I have the westscott ladder and real like it. I spent some time at their shop and talked with them, they're a good group of people. Had I known about them at the time, I probably would have bought their rack instead of the Prinsu. Simply because I believe in supporting local economy first. They're in AZ

I went with the upgraded struts for the rear hatch - I plan to hang some stuff off the ladder.

Thanks. Set-up looks sick...i know its such a small detail, but the bottle opener is a nice touch. LOL. I was looking at pics of westcott and it just looks like a super solid build. Some of these ladders I am seeing, the rungs look so thin.

There's a couple of ladders that are similar in design - I just liked the way the Westscott attached. Watch all the installation videos on Youtube and you'll see what I mean. Nothing wrong with the others, I just don't like relying on 3M tape and prefer stuff that bolts.

Everybody makes good stuff, just personal preference.
