Update:
I double checked the gas cap and cleaned the rings around both the cap itself and the fuel line ring.
Then I did exactly what Spartacus suggested by driving in 4x4 Lo in a straight line for a bit. then back into 2Hi.
While the CEL and VSC lights remained on, I understood in some cases it may take a little while for the lights to turn off, but then also saw on YouTube the suggestion to then hold the A-Trac button for @10 seconds with the vehicle turned off and then turn it on while still pushing it. When I turned it on again, both lights came off without me having to do the additional steps. Here was that video just FYI
