So i have a 2014 4Runner Trail edition.
Back in 2018 the stock headunit was doing the dreaded on and off all by itself so i bit the bullet and bought a Alpine ilx-207 from Crutchfield, paid extra for the ready harness and also got the maestro to keep the factory controls and such. Thing was working like a dream and had nothing bad to say...
Fast forward to end of November 2021. Truck starts dying after pretty much every drive didn't think much of it since its cold and such. Come to figure out that the headunit was staying on playing music and touch screen was still active after the key was out of the ignition. I did my googling. I replaced the headunit with a newer model, same thing after truck was turned off. I replaced the ignition switch, same thing head unit stayed on. Even replaced the Maestro unit that helps control the steering wheel controls and same damn problem. At this point the only way to even be able to stop the drain on the vehicle is to have the head unit completely disconnected from the truck.

Difficult to diagnose on the forum. Power is being fed to the radio even with the ignition off. There is contant power to the memory of the radio is that been hooked up correctly. The The door switch also sends power for like 30 seconds after shut off check that circuit after turning the ignition off wait a minute open the door and try to use the windows they should not operate. There could be a back feed coming from the amp in the cargo area kick panel.
Good luck.
