Does anyone have these side steps?

I'm looking for a nice set of side steps for my 2010 SR5 and was wondering if anyone has or had these and has pictures. They look really bulky in the images on Amazon. I just want to see if they actually look that massive or not. Thanks in advance!

Ya, they are that big, especially on a stock height rig. They are 6.5" wide which is 0.5" bigger than any other Ive seen, but they hang really low too. Hard pass for me.

Thanks guys!! Phew! Dodged a bullet there.

I'm having a hard time finding a nice looking set of side steps that will work without having to screw with the cladding. A lot of the ones I like say they're not compatible unless you remove the cladding.

I'm confused about that though, because I only have an SR5, and I guess most don't come with the cladding on there, mostly limiteds do.

Any suggestions for me?

you can get factory running boards that will fit the SR5. I think you will find a lot of people on this forum ditch their running boards and either put sliders or just have nothing there. personally side steps sort of defeat the purpose of having an SUV with ground clearance. they offer zero protection. I get people with kids need them and if you absolutely need side steps or running boards I think OEM actually look the best

nfabs might be worth looking into but they will probably rust out on you. the aluminum ones they used to make I believe came standard on the TRD PRO trims (I think). aluminum > steel, see if those fit your 2010. I don't know if they even make them anymore for the 4runner though. checked their site, didn't see them listed

Thanks for your response!

For me it's not really about going off-roading for a few reasons...
1. I live in Florida. lol
2. I have two kids under 6 years old that a set of step bars would help them get in, especially if I put a little lift on it in the future.
3. It's not a 4WD, so no mudding or rock climbing for me.

So I'm not really worried about lowering my clearance to be honest. I don't really like the look of running boards, having one long step across the whole bottom, which is why I'm leaning more towards the step bars. Just trying to find a set that are functional and look good at the same time. I feel like I've seen them all online now. lol Maybe I'll swing by the stealership and see what they have.

Thanks again for the advice!

I would just find a set of OEM running boards. Tons of people have them just sitting around after removing/ installing rock sliders

Sorry to hijack this thread but can anyone tell if the fixed-in-position Nightshade running boards have any paint on them or are they just all matte black plastic?

take a look at nfabs. if you can't get the predator steps you can opt for the standard ones. they warranty finish for 5 years. people have sent them off due to rust and have received brand new ones. you could take your chances with those. I haven't seen many other side steps that look as good

are you referring to the sides? I believe the sides are aluminum and anodized black. I have a limited and I believe the running boards for the limited and nightshade are the same (fixed ones), except nightshade is black. the limited ones are plain aluminum. I suspect the nightshade ones are same, just chemically altered to be black

FWIW I have the factory side steps on mine with a 5 and a 3 year old and they can climb right in. People practically give them away, they look right, and are cake to install.

I second this, or…I installed a set of Toyota Predator steps, since I don’t 4wheel either ( mine is 2wd also). I put them on so my wife could get in more easily. Also, they’re aluminum so no rust.

Another vote for just grabbing some used factory running boards/ steps. I don't love the look of them, but the kids can climb right up and in easily. I bypass them getting in and out, the wife is 50/50, it depends if I'm accelerating hard as she's trying to leap in (that's a joke!)
:-)

Edit to say there are a few sets near me for cheap. One just reduced to $35 with all the hardware- 登录 Facebook
