Transmission fluid change tutorial and part numbers

I'm planning to change the transmission fluid of my 16 SR5 4WD myself soon. I want to replace the filter if possible, which means I need to take off the transmission fluid pan. Don't need a complete flush. Anyone knows if there's a detailed write-up with step-by-step instruction and all part numbers needed? There are some videos but no detailed part numbers included.

A related question is which diagnostic tool/OBD reader is recommended to read the trans temperature. I saw it somewhere but can't find it now. I also have a 17 Tacoma and hope the scan tool can be used for both trucks. I do have a temperature gun. Will it work if I just point at the pan to get correct trans temp needed?

Go here: DIY maintenance quick reference - Toyota 4Runner Forum - Largest 4Runner Forum

Scroll down to "Replace Automatic Transmission Fluid" Part numbers are listed and there are 5 links to further discussions that will likely answer all your questions.

I don't replace the "filter". It's a large surface area screen for catching chunks. The super fine stuff in suspension passes through it.

Thank you for the info. I've watched the video and read the quick ref too. Got most of the P/Ns but need the last one for washer of the 10mm pan bolts. I searched but couldn't find the exact item online.
