Treaty Oak kdss spacer question

Im working on getting my parts ordered amd installed for my ‘22 ORP, and ordered the Treaty Oak KDSS spacers. I was told today by a shop not to install the front spacer, as it causes the front sway mechanism to have some issue? It sounded like they were describing the hydraulic arm separating somehow.

Anyone experienced this?

Thanks

Kind of sounds like you need to ask the shop to clarify what issue they think it causes is

Have you had any issues with your TO KDSS spacers?

I agree with this. What issue are they actually seeing?

For reference, I'm running all 3 treaty oak spacers on my 2019 with KDSS, and a 2.5"ish lift from Dobinsons.

No lean, no issues, good flex on some tough trails and great road manners.

Thats helpful. By their description, it sounded as though they had a kdss truck hydraulic “arm”? On the front sway bar separate, but Im researching the function of the system to understand what happened.

I had never heard of it before, but certainly don’t consider my experience exhaustive.

The shop is wrong. The spacers do not add any more travel to the system. The separation they are referring to would only happen if you were running a long travel setup and the spring/shock pushed the hydraulic piston out because of too much down travel.

Dobinson lists what you can and can’t run @Crikeymike is the man.

Thats what i was thinking in my head. That it was a “long travel” coilover vs an “extended travel” one. But i havent fiddled with KDSS much directly to know one way or another.

I've had mine on for a long time now and never had any issue. The only thing with the front is they need to trim the side (vertical) part of the skid plate, as the sway bar will come down closer to the skid, if you're still using the OE plate, and it could make contact there.

The rear long travel shocks could over extend the pistons, which is why I don't recommend LT rear shocks.

Ditto here - I have same set up on my 2021 Venture. All 3 treaty oak spacers and the Dobinson 2.5/1.5 Shocks and springs. No issues and easy install, read directions and you'll be very happy.
