electrical ignorance question

sorry for my lack of understanding. I have a 2021 trd pro. can I charge my E-MTB with the outlet in the back while driving? the charger claims to be: (36V-2A)

Thank You in advance

36V 2A would be the output(to the battery). you need to look at the transformer on the charger to see it what the input requirement is(from the outlet).

Curious to know. In my Jeeps the inverters were terrible and mostly useless beyond phones, laptops, tablets and the smallest of air compressors. I mean built in twin bed air mattress small.

The Toyota unit is just as weak.

So it should work fine. But I would run it at the 400W outlet setting if possible

Thank You. truck has to be parked for the 400W to work. was thinking I could charge my MTB battery while driving between locations, hence the 100W.

I think it should work. but given 80% efficiency of the charger is just on the line of 100W usage

I assume the truck can not output the 400w while driving?

Correct. Says so in the owners manual.

One would think more power could be had while driving. Higher RPM, more amps to alternator.

I could understand if pressing the button causes a high idle condition that would make stop-and-go driving intolerable if not impossible.

But toggling 100/400W in park seems to have no effect in that respect. Is there a reason behind this?
