What wheels do I have??
I just bought this used 2012 SR5 today.
It has new tires and what look like brand new wheels.
Are these TE wheels, from what year? I'm thinking about converting it to a TE, mostly. The modded white TE I have seen on this are incredible!
I did a search and couldn't find a thread on identifying factory wheels.
thanks
Joe

Nope?
I don't know if you guys are messing with me or just mistaken, but after looking for hours and doing more searches, specifically on a Trail vs TRD Pro wheel discussion, my wheels appear to be Trail Edition wheels from 2014-2015.
Trail wheels "better" than TRD Pro wheels?

No one is messing with you, and they said TRD OFF ROAD, not PRO wheels. The trail edition was called trd offroad from 2014+. They only brought back the "trail special edition" name recently to add the roof basket to the sr5.
If you go to toyota's website and build a 4runner right now, the trd offroad in the picture has those wheels on it.

There was a Trail Edition in 2014 and was so until they changed it to the TRD Off Road. So those are Trail or TRD Off Road wheels.

The only difference in that style wheel over the years is the paint colors. They've come in all silver, silver with black accents, and all black. I think the original trail edition were all silver from 2014-15, then silver and black from 16+ when the trim was renamed TRD OR, and all black on some color combo of the trail special edition. They're all the same wheel though.
The ones on your 4runner are the silver and black ones from 2016+
Edit: I added a picture with the ones with and without the black accents.

Those wheels also came on the later FJ Cruisers, last model year I think.

I get it now! Sorry, hope I didn't offend. I didn't know about the Trail to TRD name change and these wheels were on both.
Great info, thanks!

So, are these all 17" x 7" or 17" x 7.5"?

I just bought the truck and tracked down the previous owner, he got the wheels off a 2020 TRD.
He also told me the vehicle has been flawless and well taken care of, which is nice to hear with a vehicle with 127k on it. He was pissed his wife traded it.
It's a leather interior and in fantastic shape. I paid $22,500 in this crazy market.
thanks guys,
Joe
