I run 275s on mine now too, thankfully had no issues with balancing them. I did have that problem with the WPs on my Tacoma though. Took 2 tries to get them balanced.

Hmmm interesting, two people said they had wheel wobble at 50-60 mph what appears to be two different tire but both were the same size 275. Wonder if something else is involved or just coincidence.

Out of curiosity was it like this when the tires were new or after you had them for a while?

its luck of the draw, all heavy tires have a chance of balancing issues, whether its BFG, fallen, yoko's, nitto, etc.

I was trying to find out when he noticed it.

If he noticed it when the tires were new then the cause most likely a bad tire as you said but if the tire were fine when they were new but they had problems later then it’s most likely cause by a bad wheel alignment. You won’t notice it until you rotate your tires.

Just put on my second set of Wildpeaks on Friday, 285s this time. Had a chance to test them in heavy/light rain last night, didn't slip or hydroplane at all. Very happy with them.

I put 265/70/17 SL rated Wildpeaks on my ‘22 ORP a month ago. I love em. Look great and quieter than stock Dunlops. They’ve seen decent snow in WI and they have done great. Highly recommend.

It's been a few months since we put on our Wildpeak AT3Ws on our 2021 ORP. Stock size and E-load. Never had any wobble or steering issues. Still drives like normal. MPG went down a notch or two. Hurts more today than before at around $6/gal. Fortunately, we don't drive as much as we used to. I also have a BMW 330i that is quite miserly if we truly needed to squeak out the MPGs. But, so far, we've been ok. The tires performed well in the wet, although never had to drive thru a torrential downpour this winter. Maybe next year?

Thanks to all for posting about BFG KO2 versus the Falken WildPeak.

Although the postings appear split evenly between the two, I'm leaning toward purchase of the Falken WILDPEAK A/T3W 265/70 R17 115T SL RBL ...based on current driving habits.

I live in Central Texas these days, so most driving is highway and city. Occasionally we wander about to mountains in New Mexico and Colorado to visit family and friends which leads to some light off road. Because of my infrequent and light off road use, the passenger friendly 'SL' version seems the better choice than an LT version in C or E load range. (My 1988 4runner extreme off-road fun of years ago, during late 80s & early 90s, is long gone.)

My stock 2018 4Runner OR runs Goodyear Duratracs 265/70, load range C, for the last 30,000 miles on FN brand wheels. These are nice tires and I've been pleased with overall performance. Both wet and dry traction has been good as well as handling.

However, the Duratracs have now reached about half-life of tread. I experience more 'slide' when highway surface is lightly wet. Quick stops on wet pavement require a little more distance to avoid a collision. Also, I've recently noticed a bit more 'wobble' or vibration feel from the steering wheel, but that concern is likely solved by balancing the tires.

I'm going with the Falkens because they 'appear" to have better wet & dry traction and slightly lower road noise than Duratracs. I'm willing to compromise long tread life and cost for improved safety and quiet.

Once again, thanks to all ... as you sharing your thoughts and experiences has helped me select the right tire for my current needs.

I've run both on my 4Runner. The KO2s are a tougher tire, but the AT3W are a lot better in the rain. I used to have to be very light on the throttle going around turns (especially 90 degree right turns going uphill) with the KO2s, the AT3Ws have no issues at all with the same turns.

Note - I used different tires on my 84 Toy truck that was set-up for crawling. I was usually looking for the most challenging obstacles and usually broke something. 10-12 psi,LT tires with better traction. I would not be using Wildpeaks for this application.

Good to know. I’m in NV and will be mostly desert roads like Death Valley �� and have been debating between KO2 in C load vs Wildpeak P load.

With all the rocks here was leaning towards KO2 due to stronger side wall but kinda like the better daily driver on-road and wet handling of the Wildpeaks. ��

Seems like your P rated Wildpeaks hav3 survived some good rocky desert terrain
